A weekend trip, the idea was, breakfast at home at Bangalore and lunch at the resort. So had a lazy start at 9.00 in morning for a drive of 110 km. A good road and lush green surrounding, after last night rain, we loved it.|| ||Our check-in at Raya was at a comfortable lunch time. We entered the resort with a nice welcome drink, after the long drive. The first thing which caught my eyes were the trees, old, very big trees and lush green all around. Enough space for parking our car and enough space all around. ||||Our room was a nice comfortable cosy one, with all necessary amenities, including a small refrigerator and TV. It was a clean one well sanitised, including curtains, cover etc. The bathroom was clean with a geyser. There was a small balcony overlooking the garden||||The buffet table was waiting for us, with variety of dishes of both veg and non-veg. The food was varied and tasty. As we were hungry because of the non-stop long drive, we gorged ourselves with the tasty and sumptuous dishes. If you are conscious about your waist line, be careful. Tea and biscuit will approach you at 5.00 in the afternoon, snacks or starters at 7.30pm followed by dinner||||The building of the resort is an architectural beauty like lotus. Big old trees all around shedding comfortable shadows with thick creepers. Scattered sitting places all around in a vast big lawn with shrubs here and there.||||The best ornament of this resort in river Cauvery, like a necklace in the neck. The Evening sky brought a riots of colour, red, blue, yellow, violet in all possible shades, with passing dark clouds increasing the contrast, complementing the green all around. As we sat drinking in the beauty of the sky we found a chain of flying birds, returning home. We sat spell bound.||||If you are bored of the river or are a sports enthusiast there are enough of indoor and outdoor games to keep you and the kids busy. But the bon-fire in the evenings will ultimately drag you out to the river side. ||||Water sports are part of the package. You can enjoy paddle boats or kayaking or motor boats for a group. But there is never a dull moment.||||The service of entire team starting from Aditya, the Manager, is highly appreciable. But to top it all the warm behaviour of the entire team is unparallel. We wish to go...

Read moreHad been to Raya Resort last year for an office outing, just a few days before Coorg was devastated by the abominable floods that year. The resort by itself is a quaint, charming, inn-like place where I am sure families will have a great, relaxing, peaceful time away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The rooms are good, clean and comfortable, the eating area is placed in the building where there is a great view of the river Cauvery amidst a lot of greenery. The service however is disappointing and the management has a lot of work to do in this area of hospitality. One can indulge in outdoor games like volleyball, badminton, cricket, etc. to have fun and a good get together time with family, friends, colleagues, etc. But the main attraction of this place is a giant swing which has been suspended from the branch of a massive old tree and which can easily seat 3 average built persons. It's a fun thing to do with family and friends and is sure to elicit laughs, anxieties, awe and excitement from those who swing on it. Food is the usual farye that one gets in a standard resort with no-frills. I think that if the Management takes an extra effort to provide good service (grooming the helpers and staff) then this will surely shine amongst the many resorts...
