If you're reading this, chances are you've already booked through an agent — and that's exactly how they trap you. Avoid this place if you're traveling with family or kids. We booked the so-called "private pool stay" expecting peace, privacy, and a family-friendly atmosphere. What we got was the complete opposite — a traumatizing experience, especially for those with infants or young children.

Per their own rules, loud music is supposed to stop by 10:30 PM. Ironically, there was no music at all until midnight — and then suddenly a large group of 10+ people (likely the owner's son and his friends) showed up next door with blasting music, drinking and smoking different stuffs. The structure of the room we stayed built with metal sheets, only amplified the noise. We tried calling the manager — no answer. Staff — no response. It continued past 1:30 AM. We seriously considered calling the police, and in hindsight, we probably should have.

Eventually, a staff member responded and lowered the volume. But by then, the damage was done. What should have been a relaxing vacation turned into two hours of complete chaos and stress.

Food? Below basic. You’ll be served whatever the staff themselves eat. No menu, no options, no local specialties. Just a plate of rice, poorly made dal, one mediocre sabzi, and roti. Nothing you'd expect from a so-called premium stay.

While the property looks good in photos, the reality is very different. Maintenance is completely ignored — even the manager admitted that the owner doesn’t care.

Agents are aggressively pushing this property because they earn high commissions. You’re being misled by pictures and promises. This place is neither a resort nor a homestay — it’s a scam wrapped in good lighting and wide-angle shots.

You’ve been warned. Don't go unless you've personally verified it through...

We booked this resort for our friends’ group through an Instagram travel agent called "Unexplored Chikmagalur", and our experience was extremely disappointing. The room allotted to us was “Arabica” if I had to sum it up in one word: "pathetic".

The room had two bathrooms and water heater was not working in both of them, and despite complaining three times within an hour, the only response we got was “it will work in 15–20 mins.” It never did. Even when escalated the next day, no resolution was provided and he blamed that we broke the heater. At one point, they even suggested we could shift to another room just to bathe after already delaying us by over 1.5 hours, absolutely unprofessional.

The food situation wasn’t any better. Initially, we were promised breakfast for 2 days, but this was later changed to dinner for 1 night and breakfast the next morning. The dinner served was just below average, chapatis ran out, and half of our group didn’t even get one. Breakfast was delayed by an hour, disrupting our travel plans, and instead of accepting responsibility, the staff made excuses and shifted blame onto us.

What made it worse was the sheer lack of professionalism, the so-called manager on call was rude, dismissive, and even threatening at one point, like literally he told that "you guys cannot cross Chikmagalur". To top it off, one of their staff walked into our room smoking

Overall, this place lacks basic courtesy, responsibility, and management. What should have been a pleasant vacation turned into a frustrating experience because of their negligence.

I would strongly recommend avoiding this property if you value your time, money, and...

A staycation turned into frustration. Stayed at Jungle Valley Homestay for 2 days after booking through an Instagram ad, initially excited by the pictures. Giving 1 stars due to good food, the Jeep drive, and the friendly driver. Booked a private swimming pool room, but it wasn’t ready upon arrival, and the room was not cleaned. No power for one whole day, pool not at all maintained. No privacy for private pool. The advertised complimentary campfire was rented out to a group of 50-100 college students, making the property unusable for the day. Manager informed us of construction work in the newly built room, asking us to shift due to potential noise from drilling. Agreed to switch rooms but were constantly disturbed with requests to check out. The new room was smaller and priced the same as the original. The manager offered a complimentary safari to Jhari Falls and Baba Budangiri as compensation, which was enjoyable, with a polite and helpful driver. Upon returning from the safari, found that the replacement room was given to someone else, where they double-booked played cheap tricks. Complaints were met with insincere responses, as the person who handled the booking feigned surprise but shared messages scolding the manager without addressing the core issue. Poor hospitality throughout the stay; requests for help were either ignored or poorly handled by unresponsive staff. Overall, the experience was frustrating and not worth the money. The cheap tricks used by the management were disappointing for a...

We stayed for 2 nights 3 days. Cons- Food should be improved n also variety. Cleanliness is a concern, Bathroom stinks . same food menu was served for 2 days bf - only idli sambar vada n the next day Dosa added that's it, no eggs for bf , night sambar same for 2 days. More variety required. Dogs keep barking continuously in d noon to disturb ur sleep. Generator won't work in d noon wen power goes off n it's damn hot in a cottage to sleep. Also saw the dog had peed n pooped in the dining area near the gate before bf ! TV is available but no channels available, even after asking to subscribe for channels they didn't n v ended up getting bored wen it was raining in d evening n night of Saturday 1st June. Pros- Only a guy was helpful. They upgraded to cottage for d first day may b d since suite room was booked or cottage was kept empty, v enjoyed pool thank u for that. Children play area is good. Place is good but not well maintained by staff is what I felt after staying 2 days there. There are other better places for this price with good view, food, ambiance at ಚಿಕ್ಕಮಗಳೂರು. So think n then book this place.

Had a wonderful time staying at this beautiful homestay. About 3km away from the main city, away from the crowd and hustle, this homestay helps you unwind in the most breathtaking way. The place is situated in lush greenery and the rooms are built in a victorian style with wooden roof. At night the place is lit of like a Christmas party. The host, Masood is very understanding and helpful and takes care of your every little problem. The food in the stay is awesome. Every meal is a buffet meal and the taste is very good. They will provide with their jeep for the sightseeing, albeit extra cost and the tour guide Naseer is very amicable and an excellent photographer. Overall highly recommend this place for a nice weekend getaway.
