It was our first Ayurvedic experience and at Carnoustie, it is a great first experience. Truly a place to connect the body and mind. The place was peaceful and calming. Everything were great, the food, the accommodation, but above all that medical skills Dr Mobi and all her team deserve best ratings. The therapists were all skillful and very professional, with a caring hand. The male therapists TK Vishnu and SK Vishnu were excellent. For the ladies therapists Shona, Joisha and Aaishwarya were excellent. Both my husband and I were very satisfied. Also executive chef Ashok and restaurant crew amazing and very keen to please and the perfect service and great food was provided daily by restaurant manager and staff, they were encouraging and supportive of our wellness journey. Yoga teacher Gopal ji was inspirational at his age, setting high goals for us. The villas are superb and the housekeeping staff Stephy needs a special mention. She was thorough in her work, keeping our villa, clean, tidy and fresh. The landscaping and gardens were beautiful and lush, making way for a calm mind. The pool was set in lush greenery. The beach at the resort was a great place to relax in the evenings. The resort Manger Karl Freese was attentive and professional. All the staff were fantastic and genuine. Definitely we would like to return.

Property: The property is vast and open to nature. Has its own small beach. All rooms and dining area designed in a hut style. Rooms: All rooms are not yet open post Covid. Though upgrade is offered. We stayed in Mallika and it’s very good. Rooms are very clean. Only concern was few mosquitoes which was obvious due to plants all around. Unlimited supply of bottled drinking water, tea coffee etc is provided. It also has ionizer machine. We couldn’t find Bose speakers in room as was mentioned. Restaurant: Excellent food and service. We were offered healthy food and beverages as prescribed by doctors. The restaurant chef was kind enough to accept our diet and palate preferences and on the last day of our departure they prepared elaborate meal ( on request). Treatment & Massage: The doctor was knowledgeable and kind. The therapist were all trained people and were very professional. The property follows Ayurveda practices. Beach: Though it’s a private beach but it’s not limited to the presence of resort guests but lot of local fishermen also. More attention to the cleaning & Maintainance of the beach is advised.

I discovered Le Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort 10 years ago and fell in love instantly. The resort still has the same magic and charm that captured my heart a decade ago. My villa with private garden and pool was magnificent, combining privacy and luxury. On arrival, the Ayurvedic doctor created a personalized nutrition and wellness therapies plan, and every day became a journey of renewal. The treatments were excellent, especially the marma massage, which was deeply healing and re-energizing. I also enjoyed yoga and pranayama classes with a wonderful teacher, refreshing swims in the infinity pool, relaxing walks on Marari Beach, and delicious Ayurvedic meals. The therapists are highly skilled, the atmosphere serene, and every detail is cared for with excellence. Le Carnoustie is more than a resort — it is a luxury Ayurvedic retreat where time stops, and you reconnect with yourself.

From the very first moment, Carnoustie Wellness Resort wrapped us in warmth. We were greeted by Karl, the General Manager, who had personally organised our entire trip and booking over the phone with such efficiency and care. Karl is truly the captain of this resort — a man with an incredible eye for detail and a genuine passion for guest satisfaction. He personally gave us a tour of the lush property and introduced us to Dr. Mobi, setting the tone for what would be a transformational stay.||What truly stood out was Karl’s presence — from early morning to late at night, we’d see him walking around the property, chatting with guests, checking in on everyone’s well-being. Without fail, he visited us during breakfast, lunch, and dinner, always asking how we were feeling, what more we needed, and taking feedback with true intention. That level of attentiveness is rare — and deeply appreciated.||Now coming to the heart of the experience — my 8-day detox and anti-aging program, beautifully designed by Dr. Mobi. She is a force of nurturing energy — conscious, compassionate, and incredibly wise. She cared for us like a loving mother, constantly checking in and ensuring our detox journey was comfortable, safe, and aligned with our goals. She also gave us powerful insights into Ayurveda and how to continue incorporating its principles into our daily lives through food, movement, yoga, and breath.||The therapies — where do I even begin?||Every morning from 8 AM, we were cocooned in bliss by Chinu, Adira, Dr. Shauna, and Joshua — some of the most skilled and mindful therapists I’ve ever met. Every treatment — from Njavarakizhi, Shirodhara, Udwartana, Abhyanga, Marma, face packs, steaming, to therapeutic enemas — was delivered with love, presence, and deep healing energy. You could feel the affection and care in every touch.||The Vedic healing cuisine was divine. Chef Ashok Pillai and Chef Rajeev curated a nourishing, beautifully presented menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Honestly — it felt like Michelin-star Ayurvedic dining. Each dish was balanced, flavourful, and stunning to look at. We often found ourselves asking for more (yes, even on detox!).||At Restaurant IDA, Joseph (Manager) and his wonderful team — Anandu, Kiran, and Jose — made each meal a joyful experience. They greeted us daily with warm smiles, lovingly served every dish, and always came back to ask if we needed anything else. We cheekily asked for something sweet every day — and they indulged us with the most delicious payasam. We’re now completely obsessed!||One of the most touching parts of my stay was how the Carnoustie team celebrated my birthday. They surprised me with a special cake at breakfast, followed by a serene houseboat afternoon on the backwaters, a beautiful temple visit, and a flower-decorated candlelit dinner with yet another delicious cake. Every gesture was thoughtful, intimate, and filled with love.||Special gratitude to:| • Drivers Rajesh, Sijjo, and Saji for making every journey — from airport transfers to houseboat and temple visits — smooth, safe, and comfortable.| • Hari Prasad and the housekeeping team, who kept our rooms spotless, handled laundry beautifully, and even created a special birthday room setup with flowers and joy.| • Yoga Guruji, whose daily sessions grounded us in body, mind, and soul.| • Saji at the beach got us fresh coconuts from the treeand Sabu at the pool, for their warmth and care throughout.||Carnoustie isn’t just a wellness resort — it’s a sanctuary. A place where healing meets hospitality, where ancient wisdom is served with five-star finesse, and where every staff member treats you like family.||I left feeling lighter, brighter, and completely recharged — physically, emotionally, and spiritually.||I can’t wait to return.||With deep love and gratitude,|Pria...

Nestled along the tranquil backwaters of Kerala and just a short stroll from the shores of Marari Beach, Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort offers a holistic escape for those seeking luxury, rejuvenation, and a deep connection with nature.||Atmosphere & Ambience||From the moment we arrived, the resort exudes serenity. Lush tropical gardens, traditional Keralan architecture, and open spaces immediately set the tone for relaxation. The property is immaculately maintained, with private villas that blend modern comforts with regional charm. Each villa is spacious, thoughtfully designed, and includes eco-friendly features and a sense of privacy that enhances the retreat-like experience. ||Wellness & Ayurveda||Carnoustie is known for its authentic Ayurvedic treatments, guided by experienced doctors, special mention about Dr. Moby (Senior Doctor in-charge and mentor to many other doctors) and therapists. The wellness programs are comprehensive, often starting with a personalized consultation. Whether you're there for detox, anti-aging, weight management, or stress relief, treatments are tailored to your individual dosha. The in-house Ayurvedic pharmacy and organic garden lend credibility to the treatments and dietary approach.||Daily yoga and meditation sessions are held in serene settings, often accompanied by the sound of the waves or birdsong, adding to the therapeutic ambiance.||Pranic healing done with Mr. Buu was healing and refreshing. Special mention about Mr. Buu. ||Cuisine||The food at Carnoustie is a highlight in itself. Menus are carefully curated to align with Ayurvedic principles, using fresh, organic ingredients—many of which are grown on-site. Guests following wellness programs are provided with personalized meal plans, but even those on a general stay will find the cuisine flavorful, balanced, and nourishing. The staff are accommodating to dietary preferences without compromising on taste. Vegetarians may find the menu spotty, but the cuisine and service staff (headed by Ashok Pillai) will accommodate your requests with final approval from Dr. Moby. |Special mention about Shameer and Joseph (Service Managers) for the sense of humor, engaging conversations and ensuring we get fed properly. Simply the best. ||Service||The service at Carnoustie is absolutely exceptional. The staff are very warm, highly attentive, and sincerely invested in guest well-being. From the wellness consultants to the housekeeping team, everyone goes out of their way to ensure your stay is both healing and memorable.|Special mention about Janeesh (Customer Service), who's fantastic customer service (in all respects) will get us back to Carnoustie in the future. Special mention about Gop Kumar (therapist) who's awesome massages with such a lot of skill, finesse and tlc - mind, body and soul nourishing with the medicated oils. |Special mention about Stefi (housekeeping staff), who's service with a smile made our day, every single day. |All the staff went above-and-beyond for the awesome service to make us feel more than welcome. ||Activities & Surroundings||Beyond treatments, the resort offers curated cultural experiences, nature walks, cooking classes, and sunset cruises. The location near the backwaters and beach gives guests a chance to explore the beauty of Kerala without straying far from the sanctuary of the resort.||Final Thoughts||Carnoustie Ayurveda & Wellness Resort is more than just a place to stay—it’s a journey into wellness. It stands out for its commitment to authenticity, its luxurious yet sustainable setting, and the genuine care offered by its team. Whether you're on a dedicated healing retreat or simply in need of a restorative break, Carnoustie delivers an experience that is both indulgent and transformative for singles, couples...

Most pathetic experience ever, I wonder how people rate this as good property.

Looking at the reviews, we booked the property. Our holiday was turned into horrible nightmare, which one would never think of, that too after paying very premium rates.

When we entered the property, it looked dead and very quite, we thought it could be due to very few guests.

Ours was Zukra Pool Villa, room was spacious and bathroom was good, but wooden floor was majorly damaged both inside the room and outside pool area. Pool was dead, was not used for very long time, water was very turbid, so we asked housekeeping to clean and start water circulation, but no one responded. Later in evening, Mr. Sanjay Ganguli (General Manager) approached us and promised to get pump fixed first in the morning.

Next day, after breakfast, when we returned to room, pool wasn’t fixed so called front desk almost 6-7 times, after a strong request to connect with General Manager, a lady from front desk came to room and accepted the issue with pool and offered an upgrade to higher category room.

This is an instance when we realised that Carnoustie staff is taking guests so casual and have don’t care attitude. Everyone at resort was giving any excuse to avoid situation.

Even the floor of higher category room was severely damaged. I went out when kids were sleeping and upon return, I found 4-5 warms (including ear warm) scrolling on the ceiling of room and could hear constant heavy noise of machine from the top of shower area. Soon, we rushed to front desk for early check out.

Mr. Ganguli ascertained the issue by personally visiting the villa and suggested pest control treatment or shift to other room. He tried to convince us stating that they are fixing the rooms as this resort been idle for very long time due to covid but that doesn’t help to make our holidays any good.

Service was super pathetic, we were always asked to place order to lunch while having breakfast and dinner while having lunch, that too from a limited options menu. Restaurant gets closed by 9:00 pm, there is no one to attend a small request after 9:00 pm.

No activities for kids, smart pool was closed, main pool area was super silent and dirty, no activities on beach, except kids to play with sand. WIFI wasn’t working in room, doorbell in high category room wasn’t working which lead me to stand outside the villa for almost 15 minutes.

Despite the fact that resort was not ready to welcome guests, they took the booking at very premium rate and have no courtesy to refund the amount for remaining 2 nights, they keep promising new date to my agent for refund.

Resort is nothing more than an Ayurveda Ashram, strongly recommendation to book other property if one is going purely for holidays. The experience we had, I wonder how they can get any ratings, not even close to 3...
