Jatayu Nature Park (Jatayapara) *

Jatayu Earths Center, or Jatayu Nature Park, is an eco-garden built on 64 acres of land at Chadayamangalam Jatayapura in Kollam district. The production will be directed by Rajeev Anchal. It is the first tourism project in Kerala to be built in a public-private partnership. The statue of Jatayu in the Ramayana is the largest bird statue in the world

It is believed that the Jatayu-Ravana war took place at Jatayapura. The sculpture is a reminder of the fallen Jatayu. The bird statue is 200 feet long, 150 feet wide and 75 feet high.

Travelers can enter the huge sculpture. Here is the story of the Ramayana. Go through the inside of the completely frozen bird and get to the crane. The bird's eyes then see the outside. A 6 and D theater system of the Ravana-Jatayu war has also been prepared. . The plan is to build a 6D theater, a cable car and a digital museum for a kilometer ride to the top of the hill. The Adventure Zone and the Ayurveda Resort are part of the project.

Ticket charge is Rs 400 per person including cable 250 for travel and Rs 150 for entry fee. It will open at 10am

We stayed in this hotel as part of a marriage group. The Rooms are clean and spacious. The hotel is not on the main highway to Kollam or Trivandrum and hence suffers from a location bias. While we did not expect any 5 star hotel rooms, what blew us away was the very responsive staff whether it was the front desk or the restaurant. The restaurant serves very good mallu food as well as good continental fare. Veg options are limited (as in many restaurants in Kerala). The staff was very small in number to serve a big crowd but after the first day they found their paces and rose to the occasion. There was a significant issue with wifi which did not improve at all during our stay. Overall a well placed hotel on the way to Kottarakara/Kollam/Trivandrum which has clean rooms...

This is my go-to-place whener I visit Kollam. I think in Kadakkal area, this is the only well kept and decent stay hotel option. Their staff from reception to Kitchen to cleaners, are extremely kind and courteous. Even for a single women, this is a safe place to live on. They have a variety of cuisines in their restaurant and the food that I have tasted was very delicious. It is located right on the state highway (MC Road) which makes it highly accessible and presumably safe too. The rooms are well ventilated, well maintained and spacious. They are basically 2 person rooms while the staff also accomodate third person with extra mattress on request (extra charges apply).
