We thank you very much for opting to stay with us during your holidays. Your holidaying will be a much more enjoyable and relaxed one, If you can go through the following Guidelines/information.
Check In– Check Out
Check In Time From: 2 Pm & Check Out Time Before: 12.00 Noon.
WhatsApp Communication Group.
After your confirmed booking we will create a communication group with your Room/Cottage number by including your mobile number. Therefore, you may use this group for conveying all your requirements in advance, to have our services without delay. It will enable you to verify all the dues and also can inform us, if there is any service deficiency.
Order Your Food Well In Advance To Be Served In Time You may order your food and beverages as early as possible, so that you will get the food in time.
Order your lunch before 11 Am.
Dinner Before 6 Pm.
You may have to order your Breakfast by 6 Pm, if you require specific breakfast on the next day. WIFI
We provide WIFI as a compliment facility to our guests. WIFI signals are better from the Porch, but there might be connectivity issues, so it is always better for you to have alternate arrangements of WIFI, such as Jio /Idea or BSNL4 G, Sim/ Connections.
Outside Food Is Not Allowed
Due to many reasons, such as Possibilities of Coronavirus infection, additional maintenance for clearing, cleaning, managing polluting objects, special disinfecting required and also by considering the maintenance of our restaurant staff, we have our policy to “Say No To Outside Food ”.
Still if you bring the food from outside there will be a service charge for minimum Rs 500 per room, to compensate the maintenance expenses of this Property.
No Service After 9.30 In The Night
You may please note that we will not be able to provide you any service after 9.30 Pm in the night. Therefore, you may order your necessary things in advance, before 9.30 Pm, though, the WhatsApp Communication Group, such as enough water, medicines, extra bed, and other items, for your peaceful stay at night.
Eating In The Room
Please avoid eating snacks, chips, biscuits, food etc. in the room as it will attract ants, insects and crows and you may have issues in connection with those and also your sleeping might be disturbed by ants and insects.
Visitors Are Restricted
Visitors are not allowed to visit the Guest’s Room or Cottage. The visitors can meet the Guest at the reception only. If the visitor wants to go to the Cottage or Room of the Guest, even if it is for a short time, then extra person’s charge (Per Person Rs 850) will be applicable.
Quiet Time
The quiet Time of this property is from 10 Pm in the night to & 7 Am in the morning, therefore you are requested to restrict your outside activities & Programs and also the sound, for others also have a peaceful stay during the night at the Property. We don’t allow the use of Crackers & Fireworks in our property. If You want to play music systems or TV, You may do it without disturbing others.
Extra Clearing, Clearing, Losses, Damages & Maintenance Charge
All the guests are supposed to maintain the car parking area, room, cottages and premises, as it was maintained at the time of their check in. If your unreasonable activities have caused us to need extra clearing, clearing to maintain our property as it was, or any loss or damages, then you will have to pay for extra clearing, cleaning, maintenance charge or you will have to compensate us for the loss or damages. Therefore we collect a caution deposit of minimum Rs 1000 per room, from Guests, and we will refund it, before the check out, if the guests have taken care of our property and assets as it was before their check in. *Consumption of Alcohol. Food is not included in tariff which is fine but when you want to pay for the food bill, better pay cash and take receipt. They do not accept any card payment.
On July 29th, We paid using google pay, to the number they provided with their visiting card. After successful payment that was acknowledged by their staff (we showed the successful payment processing screenshot to staff). Staff said we are good to go, and we left.
I gave a 1 star review because, Most ridiculously they came back to us in few minutes, saying the google pay number they provided was actually not in use and asked us if we could pay again using different google pay account. What were they even thinking!!!
Since they were the ones who gave us the wrong number to pay to, we declined to pay again. We even offered to file request with google pay for refund/cancelation, but the Owner of the property Salim and his wife were not prepared to wait for response from google and started acting weird and kept harassing us to pay up again immediately. When we verified their original google pay number (to which we made payment), we found that the number is actually posted on their website. We also called that number and surprisingly illilkkalam staff answered the call. If that number was Not in use then how are they still answering ? All this showed we paid to the correct number as given by them and they needed to wait for sometime to receive payment.
Salim went to extent of harassing us by saying he filed police complaint and they would be coming in 30 mins to our place. All of this indicates they were doing this on purpose and looked like they are used to doing this kind of malpractice and try and extort money from gullible tourists, wherever possible.
We knew this was a cheap game being played by Salim and his wife and we refused to pay come what may. We had already paid fully to the google pay account given by them. We also welcomed any police inquiry.
Finally after few hours on July 30th, Salim himself sent a message they received the payment, to his so called unused google pay number and said he is dropping his claim.
All this confusion created by Salim and his wife and unnecessarily inconveniencing tourists like us is uncalled for and they should set their house in order with respect to their payment systems.
I appreciate care taker Ananthu’s service during our stay. He was very helpful.
Owner Salim and his wife’s behavior was not appropriate. Once you acknowledge successful payment from a guest, you have no business contacting them again and pestering them. If you made mistake providing incorrect account for payment then you deal with it. It is none of the business of any tourist. You are giving an impression that you are trying to extort tourists for double payments. Some innocent people may fall for this and pay up, but not all. Read moreAffordable yet neat and clean property facing the Vembanad lake, in Kumarakom. They have independent cottages and family villas facing the lake with a nice lawn extending upto the lake from each cottage. Each cottage has an front canopy with dining table where you can enjoy the food watching the lake and enjoying the breeze.
Cleanliness: The cottages are not brand new but was well maintained and clean. Washrooms were clean and bed linen was also fresh (though we always use our own since the pandemic).
Room Interior : Basic room with attached washroom and a sitout. Very clean and neatly maintained compared to many other properties in similar category during the pandemic. The curtains and window sills were clean and there was no dust anywhere. Floors had conventional ceramic tiles but were very neat. Wall paint wasn't fresh but still very clean and impressive. The old wooden wardrobe was bit old school but nothing against the overall neatness. AC and TV were perfect though we did not use both. One major missing was mosquito nets on the windows, though not necessary for an AC room, to enjoy the nice breez it was a must.
Premises : The lawn in front of the lake facing cottages are neat and maintained. The concrete paving amidst the grass is nice to walk upto the fence beside the lake. Sitting there sipping a cup of coffee was relaxing indeed. Overall the lawn and premises in front of the cottages facing the lake was nice and safe even during night. As for the path leading from the reception to the cottage area, the overgrown vegetation on either side was bit of a turn off. However it can be ignored as even while running on limited resources during this pandemic, they are doing well to keep the rooms and cottages fairly clean.
Service : Even though they have limited staff during these times, the service was excellent and staff were very attentive. They hav a system of connecting each room guest to their housekeeping, Kitchen and front office via a unique whatsapp group. This was very helpful and the response was very prompt.
Food : All meals are made upon prior order. They serve it at the dining table in front of each cottage. This gives a nice ambience and also a very good safety measure during the pandemic. You literally do not have to interact with others like in a restaurant. We ordered only dinner so can't rate the food on a whole. But it was good. However, the food did get bit cold owing to the heavy wind outside and the distance from the kitchen to the cottage. It would be a plus if they could serve in hot casserole.
