An amazing experience and a must visit if you're in Kerala - to soak in the rich heritage of an era bygone. The home is a treasure trove of traditional Malayali artefacts. And the way this lovely 'tharavadu' (ancestral home) has been maintained and enriched is a precious experience for the younger generation. Our kids - aged 9 and 7 - absolutely loved the place! Both of them were so indulged by the hosts. You have to see it to believe how the home has a small, private lake of it's own, complete with it's own traditional canoe or 'vallam' in Malayalam! My older boy learnt how to steer a canoe and move it around - only due to the brilliant coaching he received. And I was a beneficiary too of this coaching - never in my life had I dreamt I'd be able to manage a canoe on my own and here I left the place confident that I could manage whenever the need arose. My animal-loving boys - especially the younger one had the time of his life with the pet Labrador. She's so loving and gentle - a living example of why 'Lab's' are the most loved of dogs.
