Mist Inn Resort — Hotel in Kerala

After the new management took over this property we were there first guests!! ||We were recommended this hotel by Mr.Xavier Fulgence who was in charge of the Travel Desk at The Grand Hotel,Kochi. We are really thankful to him for his recommendations!||Hotel/Resort is now run by Mrs. Priya Nair,Azad Samuel with there other partners. Believe me Priya and Azad, both are gem of a person! When we arrived the resort was just into its renovations final stages and both Priya and Azad were the only persons available there! Still they both managed and toiled hard to make our stay comfortable and amazing! We finalized the rooms and went for sightseeing and by the time we were back our rooms were ready!||||Location: This resort is around 7 kms before the Munnar town,meaning while travelling to muunar you will reach this resort first and then the munnar town! So you will find peace as you are away from the town's hustle-bustle! Yet you can reach the town within less time!||||Rooms: We stayed in the Deluxe category room which was very comfortable and had amazingly scenic view!! Bathroom was clean and had 24hrs hot water! Hot/Warm water for drinking was also provided by default along with packaged drinking water.The lights in the room were bright enough to illuminate the entire room.The room also had a balcony from which we could see the beautiful forests and mountain ranges of the Idukki district!! We all had a quality sleep too in that peaceful and fresh atmosphere!||||Ambience: The plants and trees around are beautiful and it really gives you a lot of positivity. The birds chirping around really makes you happy and cheerful! There are varieties of birds around and some may even be of rare species as there chirping sound is just wonderful!||||Food: The breakfast was included in our stay.I would like to specially mention that as there were no staff that day (since the resort was just started) Priya and Azad themselves prepared the breakfast for us and served us at 8 am as we had to leave for airport early! For this they both woke very early to make all the preparations and it was really commendable! The breakfast they served was idili (kind of steamed rice pan cake),coconut chutney,puri (kind of fried pancake),bhaaji (vegetable),watermelon and tea.Believe me each food dish was tasty and superb! The chutney was out of this world! Watermelon was fresh,sweet and watery.Tea was amazing!||||Service: We felt more like home while staying at Mist Inn and Priya and Azad were more of a family to us.They ensured each and every aspect was taken care and our stay was comfortable! Azad and Priya also helped us out to plan our sightseeing and referred us few good restaurants to have our dinner at and also the places where we could buy tea and spices (since munnar is famous for Spices,tea & coffee plantation)||||Overall, would highly recommend this place and would urge everyone to stay at this place and have a good,warm homely experience!!||||Once again I would like to thank Priya and Azad for making our stay at Mist Inn memorable!! I stayed there for 3 nights. I am giving one star with the below reason. First I am mentioning the good things I observed there. The place is good. It is almost 8-9 km away from the city. The behavior of the manager Shibi is good. He helped booking the tickets for Punarjani classical fusion and martial arts show. He also guided the places to visit there. Now I am mentioning the NOT good things I observed there. Rooms are not maintained properly. There are ants, insects here and there inside/outside of the room and bathroom. They don't offer complementary stuffs like news paper, water bottle, tea/coffee/sugar/powder milk pouches etc. No kettle to prepare tea/coffee/hot water there in the room. They don't provide tooth brush and paste, shampoo, etc. The room I booked with around 6.5K per night, so these basic complementary things must be provided. If they can not provide, then they should not charge this high amount. Food quality is very very bad. I must say it is pathetic. For me, they charged for everything. Nothing complementary there. Complementary breakfast also they even did not provide. They charged very high amount for this 3rd class breakfast, lunch and dinner. All these 3 days, I only found idly and upma for breakfast with very poor quality. No taste at all. They charge for dinner, but they only provide the items they prepare. No option to choose any items. As I was not able to eat with the items they provided, I asked for omelets for breakfast and dinner. The funny part is they did charge extra amount for this also. The 3rd class veg items they prepare, it is really hard to eat. I see only beans and carrots with some water mixed and they say it is veg curry/corma etc. The rice and vegetables were not cooked properly. The beans are almost completely raw. Due to this 3rd class foods, my family got stomach issues. I asked for curd as I thought to give only curd rice to my son due to stomach issues, they provided rotten curd. It was not fresh and smell was also coming from it. So, we were not in a position to eat this. The towel they provided, small small fiber comes out of it. Not usable as entire face/hand will be covered with this. I have informed Shibi about this and as expected, no action was taken. They did not change the towel. I paid almost 18.5K through MMT for 3 nights and I got the above mentioned facilities from them. I will surely not choose this hotel if I go to Munnar in future. Completely...

This is not a Fake or Paid Review. This is a genuine frustrated customer who faced a lot of problems.

The location of the property is not great. We had visited the property on 15 Dec 2024 to 17 Dec 2024. We were given 6 rooms. 3 on the Top Floor and 3 on the Lowest Floor.

The rooms on the Top floors were good however the 3 rooms on the lowest floor were in very bad conditions. The moment you rch the lowest floor there are only 3 rooms whose doors sun mica are damaged and in very bad conditions. Once you enter the rooms you will be greeted with lizards and stained bedsheets. Even the lights and table fans are not functioning properly. They dont know anything about maintenance of property.

One of the lowest floor rooms had commode leakages. This is sufficient proof to know that they dont check anything before alloting rooms to guests. Upon confronting they simply said we cant do anything, no other rooms as hotel is full.

We were made to sleep in that room inspite of bad smells coming out as no other provisions were made. Then when we complained about all the bedsheets being stained and in bad conditions they ignored our plea and only changed one room sheets.

For those 3 rooms we were forced to leave the hotel as they simply refused to assist us in anything. Even if you have a driver they dont have basic facilities for their stay. Every other hotel in Munnar have it.

Then the other 3 rooms which they sell as Premium are just basic.. nothing great.

They managed to ruin my two day vacation in Munnar properly. They shifted all their problems to Yatra since the bookings were made through them.

Please be very careful. Book this place only if you have budget constraints. I have already suffered. Save yourselves.

Now the owner of property may try to defend this by posting some other story wherein I may be shown as a problematic guest but it wont affect me as I am never ever going to visit that...
