I had finally decided to take a much needed break from my hectic work life. After giving much thought as to where to go I decided on Athirampilly Riverine. I called them up. As it was the weekend, they were fully booked and only one room was available. I took the room without second thought. Turned out to be the best decision I made!
When I reached there, I was in the mood for some loud music. I called up the MD. I was greeted by LIjesh, he checked me in to the hotel and within seconds after that, my music system was ready!! It was really refreshing to be welcomed in such a friendly warm manner . I later found out he was an all in all there, which explained the level of professionalism. For dinner, there was an assortment of mouth watering delicacies, but I was craving for some rice and “nadan” fish curry. Lo and behold my rice and fish curry with a side of fish fry was served for me. Special shoutout to Nitheesh whose culinary skills are just mind blowing!! Next day after all the sight seeing and tourist activities, I came back to the resort. Just as the name suggests, Riverine is a riverside resort. I felt as though the waters were calling me .I didn’t even care it was night time. I got in the waters and lied down on the rocks there. And I just lay there in the cool moonlight staring at the stars after what felt like an eternity. I couldn’t even purt to words the feeling I had.
At night I ordered puttu and fish curry. And once again the Nithees’s expertise in cooking amazed me. I was one of the best fish curries I have ever had. Even though I wasn’t hungry I ordered a second plate just for the taste!! The chef even came out to meet me. He must have been curious as to who eats so much fish curry. Seemed like a very friendly and genuine guy .
Next day we went to famous athirampilly waterfalls. Got back in the evening I was about to ask for a cup of tea, but Nitheesh Gopi, the manager, asked me which tea I would prefer as though he could read my mind. He is the manager, but the most friendliest person I met. Whatever we need will quickly be arranged.
I asked them if a campfire could be set up. He agreed immediately and Ajith set up the most amazing campfire for me in the middle of the river. I went back 10 years. A truly magical experience it was. He made sure I reached there safely, set up the whole campfire, told me to call him if I wanted anything and left.
And the campfire with the grilled chicken in that ambience was just wow!! It was beyond words!
I have decided, whenever I want to relax, this will be my go to place!. I found the perfect spot to celebrate new years with my daughter!
Thanks to Anoop and all the staff especially Nitheesh, Lijesh and Ajith. The most loveliest hosts you can imagine!.
Above all this the natural beauty combined with the resort ambience was enough to take you to another world and give the much needed...
Read moreHorrible experience. On the 26th o January, I along with friends, as a part of our bike journey checked into the hotel. Decided to take a bath and on closing the shower glass enclosure, the glass broke and fell on me. I was covered with cuts and bruises all over my body. The nearest hospital was 13kms away. Me, along with my friends did some basic treatment to stem the flow of blood. Luckily none of the cuts were too deep so a number of band aids helped.
We decided to have an early dinner since we were riding early next day. Ordered dinner at 7pm. Waited till 8:30 and still no dinner. One of my friends went down to the restaurant where he was greeted with other angry residents who were waiting for food they ordered even earlier. After much remonstrations finally got our dinner at 9:30pm.
The next day, we saw the rudest hotel manager we ever encountered. Firstly, wanted us to pay for the glass which broke in the rudest of language to a hotel guest. Of course we refused to pay mostly due to his behaviour.
Checked out of a hotel we’ll never ever go to. Forgot to mention that in one of the rooms the AC was not working and they sent a room boy to check it instead of a technician.

Read moreI recently stayed at this resort located near a stunning, wide river — and the view alone was absolutely worth the trip. Waking up to the sound of flowing water and being surrounded by such natural beauty was a highlight of the entire experience. The property itself is visually very appealing, with a peaceful, serene atmosphere that feels like a true escape from the city.
We stayed in one of their suites, which was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. It had all the essential amenities, and overall, it was quite comfortable. However, we did have an issue with the air conditioning not working properly at times. Thankfully, the staff was responsive and got it fixed fairly quickly, so it didn’t affect the stay too much.
One thing that could definitely be improved is the approach to the resort. The road leading up to the property was quite complicated and poorly maintained. It took away a bit from the experience, especially if you're arriving after sunset or not familiar with the area. A smoother route or better signage would make a big difference.
Overall, I’d say it’s a lovely place to relax and unwind — just be prepared for a slightly tricky journey...
