SR Villa - Serenity by Riverside — Hotel in Kerala

Great Place and a overall peaceful getaway.

Pros:

1. Host (Sanjeev) is very helpful and friendly.
2. Property is situated perfectly close to most of the tourist areas in south Wayanad. 30-45 mins Drive to most places.
3. The river flows right next to the property with a small gate access. Water was shallow and my 5 year old daughter loved it.
4. Breakfast was nice.
5. Room was nice and compact with a great view of the river and alots a monkeys can be seen on the trees.
6. Food (Dinner taken) price is reasonable. It's pre order only - order by 7pm max.

Cons:

1. Leaches are unavoidable, we booked during sept end which is end of monsoon so this is a general issue common everwhere. Wear thick socks and keep checking constantly.
2. Jaccuzi Doesn't have a online Heater to maintain the temperature. Basically the hot water that you add to the Jaccuzi using the vertical heater only can supply so much hot water. So it took forever to fill hot water (stop and wait for heater to heat up and repeat). Never the less it didn't stop my daughter from enjoying the Jaccuzi.

Overall: 4/5 Great place for Couples with kids and natural lovers. If your going with an expectation for all the pros I have mentioned you will not be disappointed but Couples looking for romantic getaway with the Jaccuzi as your main criteria - You are better off booking a Luxury resort. At the end of the day for 5K this place is gold 🥇. The stay and river is the highlight not...

The host, Sajeev (Kavitha’s husband), was the worst I’ve ever encountered, with terrible communication. The listing promised hot water, but no geyser was installed upon arrival. When we raised the issue, Sajeev dismissively suggested using a kettle for hot water baths and even threatened us to find another place if we kept asking. No toilet paper or tissues were provided. He told that room is spacious for four when we arrived he crammed all four of us into a 100-square-foot room swarming with insects. Frustrated, we booked a nearby B camp resort the next day and left, despite losing money on this stay.

We also went to buy mosquitoes repelents in night. Insects were all around the place. Refer to images and videos.

Room was clean ! Best was they had a remove your shoe outside- signage! The view was awesome & a calm place to be! The jacuzzi is available but a task to fill it with warm water & hence use it ! Had stay there for three nights & we successfully used the jacuzzi only the 3rd night at wee hours 😅 but all in all a good stay ! With amazing hosts/owners...
