We booked this property for a team outing on last weekend. As we were 15 people, so booked this property well in advance. It was around 2 hours journey from Phoenix, Pune. Although the Check-in was at 2pm but we requested the owner for early check in at 12pm at the time of booking. Being a weekday, owner also agreed for the same. Owner has sent us the pictures of the property. We reached there around 11.30am and was shocked to see the property as it was completely different from the one he had shown us in images and it was very small for 15 people and teh swimming pool was just the bigger version of a bathtub. After several round of discussions, we came to know that the owner has 2-3 villas in the same area and the one we booked is the next one. Finally we got that property after 2 hours of wait as their earlier visitor checked out around 12.30pm. Hence it is advisable to check the property photos very carefully before you proceed for booking. This property was nice and enough space was there for 15 people. Although the swimming pool was not of standard size but the water was clean. The caretaker cum cook stays inside the campus. The lawn is quite spacious. It is a duplex. At the ground floor, there is huge sitting area, one kitchen, one toilet and one bedroom and at the first floor, there is 2 bedrooms, 2 toilets, 1 balcony & 1 large room with multiple beds and also there is a sleeping area attahed with this room with a staircase. Although the property is sufficient to accomodate 15 people, but I personally feel 2 bedrooms are quite small in size. As the property is quite expensive, hence the toiletories were expected at the toilet, but unfortunately there was nothing. 24 hours hot water is available in the washrooms. We booked the property with food. At lunch, they served Salad, Papad, Pickle, Chapati, Jeera Rice, Panner Masala, Chicken Curry and Ice Cream. The food was mouth-watering and as there was buffet system, we can have as much as we want. The staffs who were there in charge of the food was very cordial. At Evening, they served potato bhaji and kanda bhaji with hot tea. Bhajiyas were delicious but the tea was average. They close their kitchen by 10pm, hence you will have to start your dinner by 9 pm. At dinner, we had chosen the menu as chinese and it was a complete blunder. They prepared noodles, veg manchurian, chilli chicken in chinese but the food was not up to the mark. However their khichdi and gulab jamoon at dinner were awesome. Hence, I would suggest you to order Indian food in dinner as well. They have the arrangements of Bonfire at additional cost of Rs. 1000. As it was quite cold, hence we decided to opt for it and believe me it was really a relief for us on a chilled night at Lonavala. They also have the arrangements for barbeque and they will charge you as per kgs they prepared and served. However, they allow us to bring our own barbeque. Hence we didn't have to pay anything for that. I would suggest the owner to keep more indoor games for the visitor as the area is in quite remote place and after it is dark, there is nothing much to do. Luckily we took our own carrom, badminton, cards etc. Their check-out...
Read moreDisastrous Villa Experience* I am writing to express extreme disappointment and dissatisfaction with our recent stay at the villa. The experience was an absolute disaster from start to finish. Despite paying a hefty sum of fifty thousand, the villa was in an appalling state of cleanliness. The place was infested with cockroaches and spiders, and there was hair everywhere. The overall condition was very dirty and unhygienic.
What was even more unacceptable was the cooking practice employed by the villa. They cooked vegetarian food in the same oil used for non-vegetarian food. This is completely unacceptable for guests who follow a vegetarian diet and expect their food to be prepared accordingly.
We were 13 guests. All of us sitting in the Hall watching bugs coming from everywhere. We even called their caretaker to come and see our plight at 2: 00 am in the night. The blankets were full of insects. There is no dining area, no proper couch to accommodate 13 of us. We were complaining to the manager right from the time we had entered the villa. But we're totally unheard.
Adding to the list of grievances, despite the numerous issues with the villa, no compensation or apology was offered by the management. Given the state of the villa and the cooking practices, the experience was absolutely not worth the amount charged.
I would strongly advise against booking this villa due to the severe issues with cleanliness, unacceptable cooking practices, and lack of...
