Bodh Valley — Hotel in Maharashtra

I had a below average experience at this resort. Had been there recently with family for a night's stay and I don't have many good things to say about this place. First up, our check-in was delayed by over an hour. Noon is the check-in time and we reached there at 12:45PM, still our rooms were still not ready. We had to wait 30 minutes before we got our rooms. And it was only when we checked ourselves that we came to know we can occupy the rooms. There was no housekeeping supervisor to inform us. Had we not checked, not sure by when they would have told us, if at all. The adventure sports activities is one of the few good things about Bodh Valley Resort. We had that in our package and all of the activities were quite good.

Tip: Get your snacks, swimwear, drinks along when you come here. There is a shop in the resort but it's quite expensive(see the Cons). If you decide to go out and buy, given the isolation of the place, you will have to drive about 5-6 kms to Igatpuri. Not worth with the hardly motorable village roads. Also, you will not find alcohol here. Get it along or buy from Igatpuri.

Pros:

1. Location of the resort is very good. Hill peaks on almost all sides and fresh air. Located in the interiors, this resort is isolated from the hustle of the towns. Will be best to visit in monsoon.
2. Adventure sports is well worth doing. Those who are regular adventurers will not find it that great, but good set of activities for the family members.
3. Kids play area is small but maintained well.
4. Open spaces for ground sports, good seating arrangement at the pool area.
5. Large auditorium for Carrom, badminton, Table tennis. But as expected no equipment to play. carrom coins missing, badminton rackets broken, chess pieces not available. Typical. Not maintained well. So this is a Pro and a Con.

Cons:

1. Customer service is below average. Staff is always moving about being busy, but no one ever came to our rooms to check for anything. Few complaints we made at the reception were met with lackadaisical attitude.
2. Our rooms were not good shape. The intercom was working but numbers to reception, etc. were not displayed anywhere in the room.
3. Towels were not kept in our rooms at check-in. We had to go to the reception(as intercom was useless) to ask for them. Basic stuff.
4. No mini-fridge in the twin-sharing rooms, so can't keep your chilled drinks anywhere. Officially, they don't allow alcohol (lol'ed at this when they mentioned) but everyone we saw were drinking in their rooms. No wardrobe to hang clothes. No geyser warm water. Apparently, they have solar heated water, but we didn't get any for some unknown reason.
5. Swimming pool is OK. Flat depth of 5-foot all throughout, no gradient. Kids pool is a plus. But nothing great.
6. There's a shop next to the pool selling cold drinks, packaged snacks and swimwear. And they charge double the MRP. One Haldiram's peanuts pack worth 30/- was sold at 60/- Get your own eatables and drinks here. No point paying extra. You don't get any service for the extra money you pay.
7. Parking area is average. In the 'premium rooms' area we were at, parking space is minimal. However at the main entrance there is ample space.
8. Food was just about average, at times below average. There is only one non-veg dish for lunch and dinner. There was no non-veg option for breakfast. Curries, papads are too oily. We had taken a wooden Cottage. The rooms were very dirty. The washroom sink was leaking. There was only 1 chair which was not fit to sit on as it was filthy. It was nothing like the the photos shown. We were told we would get an upgrade at the same price while booking. When we asked for the upgrade, we were told they would charge us an extra 2000 for the upgrade due to increasing demand. The upgraded room was filthy as well.

We had opted for all non-veg meals (also paid extra for non-veg). But in breakfast, they don't offer non veg meals. Also, there's no room service since it's all buffet meals.

There was a wedding function held in the premises that had a live orchestra playing loud music till 1:30am at night with no regard for other guests sleeping time. On complaining to the management the response was very cold saying that there are no rules as such over here to prohibit people after a certain time limit.

They give only 2 water bottles in a day. If you want more, we have to buy it from their in-house general store that sells everything above the mrp.

The receptionist were very rude and least helpful. Overall i would like to give this place 0 stars and blacklist it. If you are planning a visit here i would recommend you to look for...

My experience at this hotel was nothing short of a disaster. The rooms were in a deplorable state—filthy, outdated, and uncomfortable. The bathroom was particularly troubling; the jet spray was broken, making basic hygiene a challenge.

To add to the misery, the intercom system was non-functional, leaving me unable to communicate with the staff or request assistance. The presence of cockroaches in the room was both alarming and disgusting, making the stay even more unpleasant.

The staff’s unprofessionalism was the final straw. They were consistently rude and unhelpful, which only exacerbated the already terrible experience. I had to follow up multiple times just to get a simple bottle of water. Each request was met with delays and indifference, highlighting their lack of customer service skills.

In summary, this hotel failed on all fronts—dirty rooms, broken amenities, pest infestations, and unfriendly staff. I strongly advise against staying here; it was a thoroughly disappointing and distressing experience.
