Normally when we hear about Malshej ghat, we picture lots of hills, waterfalls greenery, and the MTDC at the edge of the cliff. Frequent visitors to Malshej would know the lake just beyond the MTDC and the hotel Saj by the Lake. The more adventurous ones would have gone beyond the ghat to the next lake and gone exploring towards Shivneri or Junnar. But only the hard core religious travellers would know of the existance of this great hotel in the small village of Ozar, around 25 kilometers beyond the MTDC resort.||You would ask where is Ozar and why would we want to visit this hotel. Ozar is a small village beyond Malshej, around 10 kilometers from the Ahmednagar highway on the right side when coming from Bombay. It is famous for having a Ganpati temple which is part of the Ashtivinayak circuit.||The road to the village is extremely bad, but construction is going on, so hopefully it will get better by the time the next rains come in. As of now, it needs a brave heart to navigate that section in a car or bike, expectially if you own the same and worry about the shockers!||At the end of the road, there is a small arch, and the hotel is immediately on the right, close enough from the temple, but far enough from the main hustle and bustle.||The place is neat and clean and done up very well. The reception has a bookshelves containing books from the owner's personal collection. He is a martial arts practitioner, and his personal samurai swords are also on display along with many artifacts from around the world, collected during his travels.||If you get to meet his, then you get the bonus of information about each of the items, and also the history of the village and its surroundings.||There are sugarcane fields all around, with lots of water bodies, and leopard sightings are common. We were not lucky enough to spot them during our short one night stay.||There is ample space for parking 5 to 10 cars. We had gone as usual on our high end bikes and the staff made extra sure that the bikes were untouched the entire night.||The rooms are adequate, with modern fittings. There was a balcony with a nice view of the fields around and of the temple.||The restaurant was great, with almost home cooked food. Since we had informed the owner that we would be late, the kitchen staff was waiting for us much past their bedtime to cook and serve us some delicious fare.||Since it is tourist hub, the team is up around 04:30 to cater to the early morning checkouts.||We left the place with great memories, just as the weak winter sun was making its appearance from behind the small hillock next to...
Read moreI was looking for a reasonable yet decent hotel within the Ozar Temple premises. Ozar Temple management has already built 'Bhakta Bhavan' for all kinds of customers with AC as well as non-AC rooms at very reasonable price. But, still was looking for little more better option to stay. Then finally found this hotel and reviews were good so, decided to stay in the Hotel. When I reached hotel, it was very crowded due to some weekly bazar but, hotel staff was attentive and they entertained me and escorted me to my room on the 3rd floor. Frankly speaking, room was tiny yet comfortable. AC was powerful enough to cool the room immediately. TV set was decent in size and in good condition. Wardrobe was very small, but it was well proportionate with the size of the room. Same goes to bed. Every hotel room has a balcony. Some hotel rooms are temple facing and some are farm facing. I preferred to stay in temple facing room. Just FYI, all room charges are same, irrespective of the their view/facing. I have also added temple view pics taken from my room in this review. Bathroom was okay but, hot water is only available between 4am to 9am and please carry your own towels coz their towels are smelly. Wi-fi is not included in the original services list but, hotel staff will help you to connect to the free wi-fi. Rooms are clean and cleaning service is also prompt. Hotel has their own restaurant and serves delicious breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner at reasonable price. Overall, go ahead and book your stay without...
Read moreGood place to stay. We had planned for a short weekend trip to Shivneri, Malshej ghat and Bhimashankar when we stumbled upon this hotel. This place happened to be at the exact centre of our trip. We were a bit skeptical while making our booking online, but once we reached the hotel and checked in, we were more than happy. This hotel is near the Ozhar Ashtavinayak Ganpati temple & offers very neat and clean a/c rooms at a comparatively affordable cost. Being a pilgrim centre there are number of bhaktanivas and yatri nivas which offers a/c rooms starting from ₹500 onwards but this place has its advantages. The most important one being a good tasty vegetarian restaurant at real cheap costs (₹600 to ₹700 per meal for 5 adults). It's the only one available in the area and serves to all the guests from other bhakta/ yatri nivas. The hotel doesn't provide room service to maintain cleanliness of the linens at affordable cost. Being in close proximity to the temple, alcohol is not permitted even inside the rooms. Overall an awesome experience staying and would...
