I recently had the pleasure of staying at Forrest Hostels in Bandra, Mumbai, and I must say, it has been one of the best hostel experiences I've had so far. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere that set the tone for my entire stay.

My stay at Forrest Hostels was mostly good. Your expectation from the place keeps declining with every step you take towards the entry to the hostel, but it’s like a whole different world once you enter the place. The ground floor houses the reception and the common area with games like table tennis, foosball, and various board games. The whole section is very well designed and has a very youthful feel.

You go up to the first floor and you see another common area with a television and a kitchen. Subscription to various OTT platforms are available for varied content. You pass through another gate and that is where the rooms are located. The rooms are 12 bed dorms. The beds are moderately comfortable with a small wall fan setup and two plug points alongside the bed. They provide locker as well for securing the belongings. However, there isn’t enough storage under the bed for a large suitcase.

The washrooms are common and cleaned regularly. Check the video with this review for a tour. It never gets very crowded and you’ll hardly ever need to wait for your turn. There’s a hair dryer as well.

Overall, a good hostel but your experience will be largely influenced by the other people you end up sharing your dorm room with. And with 12 bed dorms in India, the chances of all occupants following socially acceptable behaviour becomes rather challenging.
