Read moreMy partner and I chose this hotel for a workation, valuing both comfort and the ability to work efficiently. Here’s our detailed review:
Background: Staying here as a couple, our priority was a comfortable workspace. This need was well met, providing a solid foundation for our workation. Amenities and Food: The hotel boasts a large club lounge offering breakfast and dinner. Although the food quality is basic and somewhat repetitive, the staff’s kindness and attentiveness partly compensate for this. Notably, the chef quickly learned my preferences and delivered perfectly each morning. Workspaces: The hotel excels in providing diverse working areas, including a desk, a stand-up area in the lobby, the club lounge, and multiple other spots throughout the facility, catering to various work preferences. Dining Options: The lunch and dinner buffet stand out for their quality and rotating options, ensuring we never grew tired of the meals. Dining Caveat: The 4.8-rated luxury Indian restaurant fell short of expectations. Despite its high prices, the naan was served cold, making the buffet a superior option in my opinion. Customer Service Concerns: The primary issue encountered was with the front desk and customer service. Their approach made tasks unnecessarily difficult, deviating from the standard of care expected by Marriott Titanium members. Unreturned calls added to the frustration. Spa Experience: The spa’s pricing was steep and commercialized. The Ayurveda treatments, particularly, were disappointing. The practitioner’s haste and use of cold oil, contrary to the expected warm oil treatment, detracted from the experience. A more traditional, customer-focused approach would justify the premium pricing. Gym Facilities: The gym was exceptionally good, large with ample space, providing an excellent environment for workouts. Outdoor Exploration: Walking around the property was a delight, with opportunities to see the lake and various animals, adding a serene and natural element to our stay.
In conclusion, while the hotel offers commendable workspaces, dining options, and recreational facilities, its customer service and spa experiences significantly detract from its overall appeal. Improvements in these areas could greatly enhance the...
Read moreOverall the Westin Powai stands high on rooms quality - standard Marriott rooms when it comes to look and feel, they are neat and clean.
Impeccable service. Really loved the way they treat their guests. We got a welcome drink before checkin - coconut water from Paperboat. Free room upgrade to delux category as I am a Marriott gold member. One of drawback that I felt was that chek in took some extra time even though they have 5 people guest-in. This could be cause we got to the hotel around 2 pm which is like a typical rush hour. Otherwise throughout the day as and when I passed the main entrance and main desk I didn’t see it to be crowded. Also got some complimentary cakes, cookies and Chikki’s.
Location is perfect for people who have to catch an international flight early in the morning, the airport is like 15 mins away during early mornings and late nights otherwise max 30-40 mins. Cause of the unique location it’s has a very serene view of the Powai Lake and literally whole of Powai from a distance.
Another important point was we couldn’t get cabs easily here. We came in our own car but thought of travelling taxi as I would find difficulty in getting parking in Mumbai but nonetheless a couple of cabby cancelled on me and the wait time was showing like 15 mins, even I ended up going in car as I had to go nearby. Thing to keep in while booking a taxi is that book it before leaving the room so that by the time u reach the foyer area, your cab arrives.
Others - the food and the Spa is quite expensive here considering this is premium property but it’s Powai and you can get almost anything by taking a cab for 150 Rs to Powai. So recommend restaurants like Mantra in Hiranandani Plaza as and when you are at Westin.
I loved it and I recommend...
