Detailed Review – Ramada by Wyndham Jalandhar
Front Office & First Impression
The check-in experience itself was enough to leave a bitter taste. The front office staff lacked even the most basic hospitality training. The person handling check-in behaved arrogantly, had an unprofessional appearance (wearing flashy bracelets, acting macho rather than professional), and spoke to guests without respect or courtesy. For a hotel that carries the “Ramada by Wyndham” name, this was extremely shocking. A guest’s first interaction sets the tone of the stay, and here it was completely mishandled.
⸻
Room Service & Food Experience
When I called room service to request a simple Indian dish (Rajma Chawal), instead of politely guiding me through the menu or offering alternatives, the staff responded rudely with, “Jo menu mein hai wahi milega.” The tone was dismissive and arrogant, which is unacceptable in a hospitality business. A good hotel should focus on guest comfort and flexibility, not on shutting down requests in such a rude manner.
⸻
Housekeeping & Cleanliness
Housekeeping was poorly managed. The room was cleaned only once during the entire day, with no additional service or effort to maintain cleanliness afterward. A reputed property should provide multiple clean-ups or at least be responsive to a guest’s request. Instead, it seemed like housekeeping was just doing the bare minimum without care or accountability.
⸻
Staff Attitude & Morale
Across departments—front office, housekeeping, room service, even drivers—there was a visible sense of frustration and lack of motivation. It genuinely seemed as if the staff were not being paid on time, and their frustration was being taken out on guests. The drivers even quoted ₹300 just to clean the car, which is an unusual and unprofessional demand at a branded hotel property. This kind of behavior indicates poor management and low staff morale, which directly affects the guest experience.
⸻
Billing Practices & Hidden Charges
One of the most concerning issues was with billing. The hotel is charging 3.54% service charges on every bill, in addition to GST. This looks like an unauthorized and illegal practice, as per current government norms, service charges are not mandatory and cannot be forced on guests. The hotel seems to have created its own billing structure, which is not only unprofessional but also unethical. I have attached the bill as proof of this malpractice.
⸻
Overall Experience
From check-in to check-out, the experience at Ramada Jalandhar was pathetic, unprofessional, and frustrating. Instead of feeling welcomed and cared for, I felt disrespected, overcharged, and treated rudely at every step. Hospitality is about warmth, service, and professionalism—none of which were visible here.
⸻
⚠️ My Recommendation
I strongly recommend that future travelers avoid staying at Ramada Jalandhar until the management takes serious action. The Wyndham brand is being badly represented here, and unless the staff is retrained, management policies are fixed, and billing practices are corrected, this hotel will only continue to disappoint guests.

Read moreBooked Deluxe Suite (the best possible room at Ramada Jalandhar city) for two nights. The first impression was when I approached the reception and waited for the staff to acknowledge my presence. There was no one else and the reception staff member kept looking here and there completely ignoring me. I stood there for about 2-3 minutes without the person acknowledging my presence. Later a lady walked in and the receptionist, ignoring me completely, welcomed the lady who was standing behind me. Little did I know this was just the starting. The suite was dirty with stains and litter all over the carpet and tables. Seemed like it wasn't cleaned or vaccumed before arriving. Both the TV's in the suite were not working and had to ask for help. The electric kettle socket seemed burnt and the kettle plug would not fit the size of the socket anyway. Though we were a couple staying there but it seemed everything arranged in the room was for one person i.e. one dental set, one disposable slipper, one English breakfast tea bag, one hand towel, etc. The tiles were cracked and broken, the doors worned out. In the bed room, the only lights available are the table lamps and thus too dark at night. Asked for tea and snacks in the room. Was rudely told that samosa is not available (despite it being in the all day menu) as the menu has changed. Then asked for Pakoras and again was told that it will take at least one hour. The best part was when we were woken up at 4.40am (we were dead sleep at that time) by a phone call enquiring if the house keeping was OK. For a room costing about Rs 7,500 per night, this is not I would expect. Would never go there again nor recommend it to anyone else. BTW, I have taken photos of everything to prove there is no exaggeration in my description. Pity there is no provision in this feedback...
Read morePathetic service, I had a stay at this hotel on 26 July 25 at room no 317, AC of the room was not working at the optimum. On my call Maint supervisor, Mr Rana came and I told him that for past one and half hour the room temperature is not going below 24.5 even after it was set at 18.5. Infact it went to 25 degrees and then went down to 24.5. Maintenance supervisor checked it and told everything is fine ( even told me that he could see the curtain moving which means the blower is working….strange) however he had no query to why temperature is not going down. I called up reception guy and he told me that he will check it, however he did not come up and thereafter he too did not pick up the call. In the meantime time supervisor came up again to check his duct and informed me that AC is fine, however on being asked on why the temperature is showing 25 he had no answer to it except telling me to speak to reception for room change!!!!! I then have to give supervisor the shut up call. Next day I asked for the complaint register, the so called manager requested to not put the written complaint, however on much insistence I was given the feedback form. I had written mails to the GM giving the details of the pathetic behaviour by the maintenance supervisor along with the video clip and the pic of feedback, however no response received by them. This hotel doesn’t seem to be the original Ramada as the services do not gel well. Please do not plan to have a stay at this hotel or...
