Shiv Tara Desert Camp — Hotel in Rajasthan

We happen to meet the owner Mr.Bhagirath in a bus who lured us with a package deal of Rs 6500/- for 4 people including tent stay and jeep safari and camel ride..he claimed to be the best in the city but turns out when we reached their tents which is 40km from the city we had no one but us..the locals had forewarned us about thier poor impression but we thought it was bad competition...we got good service from thier staff but food was served cold being only ones in the tent we couldn't enjoy the nite show and dancing as there was no crowd, thankfully the neighbouring country side resort people aloowed us to join them in thier nite show which was a delight...we were thankful for their manager who could organize tht...other than this the desert jeep safari was fab which every camping could offer...so nothing unusual about shivtara. We ended up arguing with the owners as there were repeated power failures and despite of having a back up they did not switch on..He had offered us car for site seeing but he denied to take us to places beyond perimeter of 20kms....so people who are booking shivtara pls beware as go only in larger groups...wouldnt recommend for couples and small family...owners...

The place was secluded. We booked for 4 people, the tent was good, clean and washrooms were hygenic and were maintained properly and were airy too. The bed was huge and could easily accomodate 3 people. We checked in and went soon to jeep safari to dunes which was great and also had a camel ride which was frightening for me specially😂. Had tea at dunes, dream of mostly all chai lovers😍. We returned back and changed and then the snacks were served in evening with tea which tasted good. The cultural program was fun and the DJ night was great. They even roasted me with a shayari🤣#unexpected. The traditional thali dance, matka dance was very beautiful. The sufi songs, gazal, cycle dance and a fire show actually amazed us. At last the food was actually very good and there was a variety of dishes both in dinner and breakfast (all hot served) which was way above the expectations. The environment was very good/clean, staff was helpful. To sum up, the overall experience was awesome would surely recommend to book if you are visiting the dunes. P. S: Its very cold in December, do bring ur warm...

The Worst place, I have stayed in last 4 yrs,since I have started booking hotels online.. I do travel a lot...in this year only I have been in 5-6 places ..booked all the hotels online..even in abroad as well....and finally got THIS Shiv Tara !!!! Reasons for the rating : Rate - 5500/night Water heater not working 3.water logging in washroom 4.not even a single hook either in room or washroom to hang cloths 5.insufficient water supply , can stop any time. Only one LED bulb in the room ,no other light 7.dirty bedsheets Only one thing blanket was given when the minimum temperature is around 4-5 degree at night in the desert Untidy rooms and washroom 10.Very poor quality drinking water 11.Not even a chair in the room to sit Only a bed is there The room service is extremely irritating & unresponsive Food quality during dinner - a road side dhaba serves a lot better food that this hotel, The breakfast was somewhat bearable.. Please see the rooms /tents at first ...then enter/ select the room
