I recently had the opportunity to stay at Vallabh Vilas with my family, and I would like to provide a review of the property. Let me begin with the positives. Undoubtedly, the location is the biggest advantage of this hotel. The temple is just a 2-minute walk away, making it the closest high-end property to the temple. Additionally, the room size was another positive aspect. We opted for the Deluxe suite, and both the living room and bedroom were very spacious. The living room even had a separate toilet and a cooking platform, which were convenient features. These were the two standout qualities of the property.
However, when it comes to the overall condition of the hotel, it appears to be quite old and lacking proper maintenance. Cleanliness was an issue both inside and outside the rooms. The curtains seemed as though they hadn't been washed in ages. The common areas of the property lacked vibrancy and seemed dull. There was a noticeable smell of humidity throughout, especially on the ground floor. During our stay, one of the two elevators was out of order, and even the air conditioning in the reception area was not functioning properly during the hot summer days. Surprisingly, there were no fans available in the waiting area either.
In the room, the centralized air conditioning system was dysfunctional and replaced with a split AC, which was only present in the bedroom. As a result, the living room became practically unusable during the summer months. The bathrooms also left much to be desired, reminiscent of the 90s. The fixtures were outdated, particularly the shower head, and there was a lack of hot water. On the first day, the water was mildly warm, but on the second day, only cold water was available.
Turning to the food and beverage aspect, the meals were average and nothing extraordinary. The complimentary breakfast offered a limited selection, with no live counter available. We ordered Punjabi cuisine for lunch and had the chance to try South Indian cuisine during breakfast. Unfortunately, both cuisines were quite ordinary. The breakfast staff seemed insufficient, as there were no waiters available to assist during the meal. However, I must commend the helpfulness of the reception staff, room service staff, and parking attendants.
In conclusion, one could consider staying at Vallabh Vilas primarily for its convenient location. Staying in the market area of Nathdwara provides a unique experience. I managed to book a room for INR 5600 during a promotion on MakeMyTrip, so it was a fair deal for me. However, the property is in dire need of improvement in...
Read moreBest Luxury Star Chain Hotel at THE location.
LOCATION: This is the primary reason of selection if one is looking for luxury star chain within walkable distance from temple entry gates. This is particularly helpful if one has agenda of doing many/all darshans of the day.
ROOMS: Provided with everything needed. Particularly liked the gesture of keeping 2 glass bottles with filtered water if someone does not want to use plastic packaged water bottles.
COMMON AREAS: Spacious, though not much used since the purpose of visit to this town is primarily Darshan’s back to back.
RESTAURANT: Very good vegetarian food. Sufficient and suitable spread for breakfast. A-la-cart for lunch and dinner. Fixed signature Thali matching the local fervour. Olo + Rotlo (baigan bharta + bajra roti) is special mention.
STAFF and SERVICE: Everyone throughout from Reception to housekeeping to restaurants were helpful and supportive. Special mention of Ms Durga + her team at “Menorath” Restaurent for service with smile making all requests available.
OVERALL: Pleasant experience....
