Lake View Hotel in Ooty provides an excellent stay for families, couples, and travelers seeking comfort and convenience. Nestled amidst scenic beauty, it offers a peaceful and enjoyable experience with ample amenities to make your visit memorable. Accommodation: The rooms are thoughtfully designed to provide both comfort and space. The bedroom features a cozy queen bed, and the separate hall area is a delightful addition. The hall includes a comfortable couch, a dedicated four-seater dining table, and two armchairs, making it a perfect space for relaxation or family activities. The rooms are clean, spacious, and can easily accommodate a family of five, making it an ideal choice for larger groups. The cleanliness and upkeep of the rooms are commendable, ensuring a pleasant stay. Facilities and Amenities: The hotel provides ample parking space, which is a big plus, especially in a hill station like Ooty where parking can often be a challenge. The on-site restaurant offers a variety of delicious dishes, and the room service is prompt and efficient. The food is satisfying, and the availability of both dining options adds to the convenience of guests. Nearby Activities: Lake View Hotel is aptly named, as it is close to Ooty Lake, a hub for activities like boating and horse riding. Guests can also explore the nearby tea estates for a glimpse into the region’s charm. These activities add a unique flavor to the overall experience and are great for both adults and children. Safety and Kid-Friendly Environment: One of the standout aspects of this hotel is its safety. Unlike some hill station accommodations that are perched on steep cliffs or mountainsides, Lake View Hotel is situated in a safe and level area. Parents can feel at ease as kids can play safely within the property premises. Walkability: While the hotel itself offers easy walkways and a pleasant environment for strolls, the roads outside can be steep, which may make walking in the area challenging for some. However, this is a minor inconvenience given the range of activities and the comfortable transportation options available. Travel Tips and Noteworthy Details: For those planning to stay, it’s advisable to call the hotel directly to confirm room configurations. Online booking platforms might not reflect the flexibility of accommodations, such as the ability to host more guests in a single room. To explore Ooty and nearby Coonoor without the stress of driving yourself, hiring a taxi is highly recommended. For around ₹2,000, you can get a reliable taxi service to take you around the scenic spots. Don’t miss the iconic Ooty to Coonoor train ride, which is an unforgettable experience offering breathtaking views. Conclusion: Lake View Hotel in Ooty is a fantastic choice for those looking for a safe, spacious, and comfortable stay with easy access to local attractions. Whether you're a family, a couple, or a solo traveler, this hotel ensures a memorable and hassle-free visit.

Laview Hotel is an old property that has been renovated recently. Don't be fooled by the name. You don't have a view of the lake at all, not from any of the rooms. All the rooms are cottages, the suites without fireplaces and the villas with a small fireplace. Except for the fireplace the rooms are exactly the same and cost marginally different. The cottages have a living room and a bedroom that's attached to a bathroom. The tiny fireplace is in the living room. Fire wood costs 250 for about an hour of fire. Even though it is small it has its charm. The living room does not have a kitchenette. There is a kettle and coffee and tea. The upholstery on the furniture is stained and a little dirty in both the rooms I've checked out. Otherwise the furniture is good and functional. There is no luggage rack so the diwan in the living room will have to hold your bags if you don't want to pick your clothes from a bag on the floor. The bedroom is small. The cupboard is right behind the door to the room and can only be accessed when the bedroom door is closed. The bedding is new and clean and all the electrical switches are easily accessible. The bathroom, though functional, has a slight odour constantly. It is best to leave the exhaust fan on at all times and leave the bathroom door closed. This was my experience with both the rooms I was in. Since the rooms are conjoint cottages spread out over the property, there is a lot of walkways and roads. My cottage was accessible only after a small flight of stairs. Very scary and slanted stairs with no lights or rails. The roads and access stairs could do with more lighting. The restaurant staff are courteous and eager to serve. However, the culture at the place is lacking enough that restaurant staff and manager talk loudly to each other about their business when guests are seated. I never had a chance to sample the food. Overall Lakeview is just below a 3 star level in my books. I was glad the rooms were well appointed and relatively clean. There is ample parking and you can get parking just outside your cottage. The price may look cheap compared to other properties in Ooty, but remember, you are only getting what you paid for.

The rooms were good. Amenities contain only basic things. The location is also good because our room was right in front of the lake and garden. However I don't think the other rooms can have a lake view. Only the rooms from number 1-15 can have lake view that too depends on angle as not the whole lake/river you can see. Checkin - time is 2 pm. If you ask for an early check, they will give you at 12:30 min. We reached hotel at 7 am and they asked us to wait till 12:30 pm ... What they said is there are 100+ rooms and all are full😂 🙁 seriously guyss.. There were so many people checking out in front of us, still they were saying wait till 12:30. We ordered some food at the hotel from swiggy. We requested the empty 2 plates, 2 spoons and 2 bowls. They denied. They said to order some food then only we will give plates. Now to have some food we unnecessarily ordered something less costly 😂 and requested the same thing, now they are saying we will give only one plate as that much only you're ordering 😂 my god.. I still insisted (begged) them to make it 2 plates and 2 spoons. Forget bowls 😂 now the guy said ill give 2 plates, for 2 spoons I'll check with my manager. We were like why we even booked this hotel. The food for rooms is costlier than you have in their restaurant. Better you go to their restaurant for meals. The breakfast (chai, Mysore masala dosa, mix uttapa) we had, was not that great but the dinner was awesome. Go for lunch or dinner. The luggage wasn't carried to the rooms. Rooms were Very far from the reception area. You will have to wait for at least 15-20 min for hot water. Also if you order something from tea coffee bags, extra 50 rs will be charged.

This hotel is spread over acres but very poorly managed. It has many cottages at far places from the reception area and there is no cart or buggy to reach to the cottage. One has to walk down a long to reach their cottage. At the time of booking such info is not provided to the guests.

The Hotel has the restaurant but the taste of food is not so great. Even the service in the restaurant is of below standard. The restaurant manager is not able to manage even 20-30 guests.

We stayed there for two nights and right from Check in to Check out, the experience was not pleasant.

The reception area is very chaotic and not managed well. The staff are not so welcoming. They don't have a sense of hospitality culture.

The cottage was very untidy and shoddy. No hot water provision in Wash Basin.

The service was very poor. A lot of to & fro follow ups needed with the housekeeping for electrical kettle fault. They have put a long list of Do's & Dont's as if one is here as a captive and not as a paid guest.

The location of this hotel is very conjusted. The entry is very difficult for vehicles, if two vehicles simultaneously entered the road.

They have installed the sanitizing station at the reception area with an empty bottle of sanitizer. Upon asking at the reception, the manager said 'post COVID we have stopped this facility'. I mean is this a facility or the basic hygiene needed! Quite awkward.

They do not maintain the audit trail of payment made in the restaurant and insist for double billing at the time of check out. So, please while visiting this hotel, keep the record of all bills and credit card payment slips with yourself to prove that you have already made the payment. Even, they had attached some bills which were dated before my checknin date against my bill. And the other bill was of some other room which was attached with my room documents. Their approach is very casual.

We were in pain and hence we checked out from this hotel quite early for the next place as we did not want to further spoil our vacations.

They need to do a lot to sustain themselves in the hospitality industry.

This hotel does not have Wheelchair ♿ accessibility. They do not have elevator or ramp to support accessibility ♿🧑‍🦯. They do not have braille menu in the restaurant. A plenty of Parking 🅿️ space is inside the hotel premise.
