Hotel Sri Akshardham — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

Something seriously wrong with this place at this point. Visited many times with my family since 2012. This time we reached at 3:30pm and asked for tea in the restaurant. First they said it will be available only at 4pm. I checked in with reception help and mentioned about this 4pm story. They immediately called the restaurant and directed them to serve tea immediately. We got into restaurant and ordered tea and Bajji. They served Bajji with sauce. I asked them for coconut chutney but they first mentioned it is not there. To our surprise they brought chutney in 10 mins by the time we finished the item 🙁. We ordered one more tea but the waiter responded saying there is no stock of tea pack and waiting for someone to get the stock 🙃Next episode is Dinner-we entered the restaurant for dinner at 7 pm as first customer. We ordered plain idly and dosa. To our surprise dosa came first and they brought idly after 20 mins. We got 3 plates of idly. It was good we order 2 other plates. I got a shocker from the waiter saying there is no idly in stock 😡due to some big order. Remember we were the first customer for that evening for dinner. We felt that kind of statement was an insult. Not sure what is really going on with this property in terms of right employees or any financial issue. We then observed that not much customers coming to restaurant for food. Hope they will do some turn around actions to regain the legacy of this place. I don’t think I will come to this place again after that insult for a simple idly order. Visited in Jan 2024. Location is 200 meters from temple main entrance, same road, opp side, just opposite police station. Entry into property is not very clear during day but well lit during night. Campus is large and boasts of individual well appointed rooms, seperate cottages, seperate dining area, a swimming pool and an early morning or late evening coffee centre. Room service does not exist. For laundry one has to call or take a short walk to the reception area. Neither reception nor rooms are wheelchair friendly. Swimming pool is mid sized but i did not see any swimmers. Water was clean. Dining area is large and take upto 100 guests at a time. Wash area alongside dining also large with independent rest rooms. Pure vegetarian. Car park is opposite the main reception area and can take around 20 cars. Individual cars for loading unloading can go upto rooms or cottages. Food is very nice but a little costly. Mini tiffin for breakfast is really sumptuous. Facilities in room are up to the mark. Lighting is good. At night the property is silent and does not reflect traffic sounds from main road. TV is set in one corner and is difficult to watch lying in bed. Bathroom is large and has facility for hot and cold water. Geyser is inside the bathroom. However hot water is not available in shower. We stayed there for five days during March 2022. Hotel Akshardham is one of the Best Hotels I have seen across the country. The tariff is reasonable and the amenities / facilities are excellent. The attitude of each and every Staff member is very friendly and good. The Hotel has a dynamic manager in the form of one Shri Ayyappan who oversees the functioning of the Hotel property in all its activities. The Reception Desk is also very helpful for the guests and they do their best at all times.||||The Restaurant provides complimentary Breakfast and the menu is really good and satisfying. The Restaurant (pure vegetarian) inside the complex is also very client friendly and the food served are good. The filter coffee one gets in the hotel is a special mention items.||||The location of the Hotel is the best in the town it is situated and the guests / visitors are enabled very comfortably to choose any mode of transport he / she chooses and the Reception desk is always ready to help them with appropriate guidance in this matter. On the whole, we enjoyed our nearly one week stay in the hotel which was a completely peaceful and comfort-filled stay.
