Kattankulathur has the most wonderful college and educational hub. Had to visit it and chose to stay here. Honestly, I got tricked by the fancy name. It isn't anything like it, trust me. The price is overrated for the shoddy maintenance. The entrance has broken sofas with age-old covers. The staff is courteous, one Arshad is pleasantly helpful. The security and the breakfast in the adjacent restaurant is good. You don't get anything till you ask, including the toiletries. I had to witness the naked version of the Commod flush, the fungi-engulfed shower, the heater that never heats, the curtains which specifically droop without alternate clips(artistic), the bed lamps that have exposed electrical parts and so on. The quilt was a colourful one as if someone brought it from home for an unexpected guest. They don't have an intercom for orders. One staff mentioned that I could call whenever, but after 2 calls for the basics, all my calls went unanswered. Well, I understand that the place is on the outskirts, but expected more for the price. On mentioning the concern, I was told that the ‘good rooms’ were booked by a team sadly and they were left with 3 more, out of which I could have selected some other room that faced a building’s terrace. Not going there- and not getting tricked with a fancy name again....

I had my baby shower happening here. The rooms allocated are good but AC was not upto the mark. We were provided with multiple rooms but AC was not good in any of it. When raised complaint, the manager was not giving proper answer and says even he dont know which room's AC would be good. I have changed twice the rooms to get the AC fine but they wanted us to move to third room once again as it was our problem. Question is why did they allocate rooms that doesn't even have good AC and they were expecting me to change rooms more times during my condition and they were not sure which room would have better AC.

Even though they claim that it is AC hall, a separate fan was kept to help us not sweat in the mandap. The lights were kept off for a long time and the mandap was not that bright as expected and also the AC was kept on and off during the whole event. When raised the complaint, they didn't own it up and complained back stating the photographer must have got the lights with him which is completely unacceptable.

Food was really good and the service on that was really appreciated as we got more guests than anticipated.
