Rangalaya Royal — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

Was traveling from Tirumala to Coimbatore but had to break for a night in Vellore. So quick check in Agoda and found this space with affordable price with good reviews and photos. Booked for double occupancy, and gave a call to them to inform my check in will be around 9:30pm. They immediately received the booking details and told me not to worry. When I reached the reception, before all checkin process is done requested them to give the room key so my 7month baby and my parents can go refresh and take a little rest, they were very courteous and helpful. Then arranged a extra bed which costed 896rs (inclusive of tax) with breakfast included, Madan from House keeping was a symbol of patience. We had requested him many things, nearly 3/4 times before we could go to sleep he didn’t even show a face for a min and made sure we were comfortable. Morning breakfast 7-10am R floor - Vinayagam complete buddy in fetching and guiding us thru the menu, placement of tea coffee and bringing us some dosas and omelette. He was even kid friendly. Lunch we had Room Service - ordered AVAKKAI & Gongura rice (150rs each) and Andhra paneer vepudu. It was a quick service and its absolutely DELICIOUS. Don’t miss. Later on our way back we even had talks we must have brought two parcels of it, such yum!! Every staff is well trained and they wish you with warm smile. Check out process was smooth too. Mahesh was the softest person I met, he’s been doing his job best. Such a happy pleasant stay. Am sorry to tell about this poor service ( may be right from the hotel part ) I have experienced. Self and family was on a visit to Vellore and reached this hotel on the way to another which we found through google map. It was around 2am and we just thought of checking about the availability. Went to the reception and the gentleman there just showed the tariff and asked me to select. We ( 2 Adult + 10 yrs child ) opted for a double room of Rs.3300 + tax. The staff then informed that they do not have double bed and it is two separate beds in the room and I need to pay additional Rs.800 + tax for kids bed. I told him that we will be vacating the room in the morning itself and it is just few hours we want to spend there. Staff was not ready to listen to my words and it was like if I want, pay and stay or I may leave that place !! This attitude was not at all good for a service industry. It is not that Rs.800+tax made me come out of the hotel in the car from their parking, but the attitude of the Hotel staff. I was telling myself that even If I stay in the car itself for the next 4 hours till morning, I will not stay in this hotel. We then went to the place where we initially planned through google map, and it was an amazing experience we had in that hotel. People and their attitude matters in the service industry. Place: Vellore -Chittur Highway and exactly Gandhi road Tariff: For single it will be bit difficult but for sharing its a good option. Its cost around Rs.3000 /day/room/ 2 persons. It varies with person, company and frequency. The front office reception staff were polite and professional trained and don't be hurry, there will be processing time of 5 to 10 mins. Rooms are clean, neat and spacious and based on our preference its separate bed. Centralized air conditioning with kettle. We ordered our night dinner from the restaurant and it's pretty good taste and hygiene. We had difficulty with the room boys or serving staff. Mostly from north India and they don't either Tamil or English. Only Hindi and anyway managed (pls look in to this) Restaurant is quite large with good seating capacity. We had the complementary breakfast. Not much item but few and good food made it the day. Checkout also hassle free but last minute arrangement of food bills.
