As a Passionate Hotelier and Intrepid Traveler, I have come to the conclusion that the often PATHETIC Hospitality Service Quality in India is NOT due to the Skills Shortage OR The Skills Gap BUT ENTIRELY due to Poor Leadership, Management & Employee Engagement.||This Hotel is an Epitome of the above contention.||EXCELLENT Location and Good Physical Product - BOTH of which ENTIRELY NULLIFIED by Very Poor Leadership, Ownership & Management. ||I paid Rs 2000 for a Non AC Room in Gudalur - I may have as well stayed in a LOUSY Oyo Room for HALF the price because : (1) The TV did not work (2) The Bathroom Drainage was CLOGGED and a whole host of LITTLE things that matter ( all of which brought PERSONALLY to the attention of the Hotel Manager - Respectfully & Courteously) . The ROOT cause of the PROBLEM: Very Poor Employee ENGAGEMENT. A NICE Bunch of People ( Who SMILE & GREET ) but who are clearly not SERVICE ORIENTED NOR TRAINED & Managed to perform even the BASIC of Service-Related Tasks. I suggested in fact to the Manager that if ONLY he could improve his Product & Service Quality - Customers would pay an ADDITIONAL Rs 500 Per Room Night. ||As a Hotelier - it PAINS me to see how the Indian Hospitality Industry is evolving. ||All FLUFF and No STUFF !!! ||Very Disappointed. ||GREAT VALUE Food Pricing though - Not that the Food is Great BUT it is EDIBLE ( ANOTHER Great Opportunity to improve and attract PAYING Custom). I am reminded OFTEN by what Jeff Bezos often states - " Obsessive-Compulsive FOCUS on the CUSTOMER" is why AMAZON is One of the 4 Most Valuable Enterprises...
Read moreReally worth the stay, great staff very polite and always ready to help. Worth the money, one who visiting Mudhumalai should plan to stay here. I was given room 206 which has 2 windows, had a good view + great wind. Cleaniness - can spot lot of stains in the room walls, especially washroom which the guests should be blamed. Hotel of this cheap with great staff and nice location the guests should try to keep it clean to their best possible.
RESTAURANT - most rating goes to the restaurant. Fabulous food both veg and non-veg. They have got separate kitchens! They mention about not using aginomoto and colouring is impressive. Taste is AWESOME must try lunch meals, samabar vadai, samabar rice, tomato rice are some I tried. Should also try parota with chicken hot pepper fry and/ or Malabar chicken curry.

Read moreVery large establishment and overall cleanliness was good. However, they did not have simple items of South Indian standard breakfast even at around 1100 hours. As per the service staff, Breakfast was Over and Lunch was to start at 1230 hours or so. Only sambar Vada was available and no filter coffee. We ordered these items, which came after a long wait.. But more surprises were in-store for us. We found that Vada was Cold probably previous day's leftovers and Nescafe Coffee was also Cold. The serving staff ( one Single Person who took the order later joined by another person who came after we complained about the cold items) and the Counter/ billing staff were all young but of little help. Definitely, the management was LAX and overall standards of food items and services very poor. Will revisit the place again and review the feedback. Hopefully, some improvement will...
