We liked Lebua so much the first time that we immediately booked a similar rooms for our follow up trip to Lucknow.
There were 7 of us. 4 adults and 3 children so we were looking for a family place. Lebua is perfect. It's like a secret utopia in the city of Lucknow. Fully enclosed camp ground with lots of old charm, open spaces and gardened areas for the kids. Beautiful flowers everywhere.
Rooms - we got two rooms adjoined together and could not be happier. When we walked in the room for the first time, there was a beautiful message on the bed made of flowers and leaves. It said "Welcome to Lebua." The rooms were big. Both rooms had a large bed and sofa with two chairs. Kids had lots of area to run. Special mention to the bathrooms. They were large with amazing shower and tub. Again, we were surprised and amazed at the room and the bathroom sizes. They were also very clean.
Restaurants: we are breakfast every morning and everyday, the food was perfect. So good in fact, that we almost preferred to eat at Lebua than at restaurants in the city. The staff, which included Madhu and Pradeep, were very nice. They always greeted us with a smile and accommodated all of our requests. Every morning we had the best cappuccinos and omelets and dosas in the city. The first night we ate italian and Mediterranean food which was extremely tasteful. Chefs Arjit Srivastav and Chef Salmaan are artists. Their food is best across many of the hotels we stayed at during our visit to India.
Staff: enough can not be said of the staff. From the smiling doorman, Mr. Shyam to everyone on the grounds to the head of housekeeping, Mr. Ankur Verma, made sure that all of our needs were taken care of. We wanted food late at night? No problem. We wanted drinks delivered to our room, no problem. We wanted dinner on the courtyard, they made it all possible.
For comparison, we stayed at ITC Mughal in Agra, ITC RajPutana in Jaipur and Welcome hotel in Jodhpur. All are 5star hotels and both the food and service was the best at Lebua. We look forward to...
Read moreThis heritage building was on our list for quite sometime. The place is beautiful, no doubt. We, a group of 5 decided to visit the place for lunch. The interiors were very pleasing, an old world charm. All white and blue. For starters we ordered a veg kebaab platter and a non veg kebaab platter. In veg paneer Kabuli, mushroom cheese and olive were different and really good. Heeng matar was just okay. Sabz galouti tasted stale ( they compensated it with dahi ke kabab-I recommend these-little sweetish in taste these kabaabs were stuffed with saunth chutney). The non veg platter had-chapli kabaab, boti kabaab, galouti, fish tikka....these were ok. They suggested paneer khatta pyaaz-which was again ok....nothing very different but the garnish of vinegar onions made it little different from other regular gravies. In non veg mains we ordered Bun ka gosht, which was similar to nihari with little different pieces. The pot was covered with an edible khamiri poori. The second main that we ordered was Peshawari chicken which was really good. The serving staff was not well trained wrt the menu items. While taking a tour of the property, we realised that although it is done very nicely in a basic way keeping it's charm alive, it has a lot of potential. Loved the sprawling lawn, beautiful courtyrad, yellow vespa and the white and blue vintage car. Would like to give a star for all the mandatory covid-19 prevention measures...
Read moreI was very very excited to stay at this Heritage hotel. But had a not so pleasant feeling. Especially because they did not show hospitality regarding a DSLR camera which I was carrying to take few personal photographs for my trip at Lucknow and of course at the hotel where I was staying. One of the Manager was so stringent on this citing hotel policies. I understand professional photography may not be allowed or will have rules and regulations. This was just a basic DSLR since I prefer it over any mobile pics. They were behaving as if I was having a whole entourage with me for a full day shoot with all the gadgets and the cameraman et al and they flatly refused. I am someone who respects rules and regulations and abide by it. But this seemed illogical and it was very ungracious especially being a hospitality sector (ain't travel, tourism, hotels, sightseeing etc also about some fun and taking pics etc and reveling in these lil joyous activities). As long as its not disturbing others and behaves within courteous limits I think these kind of things should be flexible. This place was like a school with strict teachers monitoring and micromanaging. I regretted spending money for my stay @Lebua. In comparison my second day stay @REGENTA CENTRAL LUCKNOW was really...
