I would like to start by saying it was our luck that we got this homestay in the peak tourist season in almora. We had a wonderful stay in goodwill homestay.
Rooms were super clean. Drinking water was provided Geezer, blankets and all the facilities were there that are necessary for almora winter. (No room heater) We luckily got the front room with a valley view from the balcony. It was beautiful and peaceful.
The owner is very friendly, helpful, and trustworthy. He spoke really nicely and made our stay comfortable, gave all the information for roaming around, sccoty rentals, and our return travel.
Just a word about the distance- the place is around 2 km away from the main market area (mall road). Sometimes local busses pass through this area but other than that, there's not much transport facility.
BUT.. if you can rent a scooty then it's no problem at all. You can easily travel to market and back. Or you can choose to walk if you have time. Also, the main road is very near where you can take the bus to haldwani while traveling back. So, we didn't face any problem with it.
If you're looking for a peaceful stay, spend some peaceful time in the mountains, away from the usual hustle bustle (mall road area would be very crowded in peak seasons, you'd never find that peace in the hotels in that area), then this homestay is the best...
Read moreFirst of all, I'd like to extend my regards to Lalitji, who owns this business. He, being a retired army personnel, who previously worked as an engineering staff with the Bengal Engineers Regiment, is a true kumaoni at heart, ever eager to welcome guests and tell them stories from real life, and help them to the best of his abilities. His winsome attitude, playful disposition and genuine smile would put you at ease, he not only functions as the Homestay owner but also as a guide in the best sense. We stayed at his Homestay from 24/11/2023 to 27/11/2023, and all of us, are missing him, his spirit, his cordial self and his guidance. His Homestay is situated far from the overhyped Mall Rd, i.e. on the lower mall Rd, and it's well lit, neat and tidy, with all the equipments you need. With the sun smiling over the shelter from 9 in the morning till 4, it's beautiful, picturesque and heartwarming in itself. The rent is reasonable, the owner understanding and sensible. Just go for it, you won't regret it, I promise, upon my honor,...
Read moreIt was one of the best experience. Mr Lalit was very helpful since I booked the stay. He contacted me guided how can I reach the property. Throughout my journey he was checking on my whereabouts. The room can be occupied by 3people easily. Clen and near room and toilet. As it is part of a house you have facility to dry your clothes and I did it. I was taking atleast one meal from them.and it was so yummy and nourishing home made simple food. MrLait was also helpful guiding me where to visit and how to get there. Highly recommend Only issue with this property is it's around 3kms away from the center/market from where you get public transportation. And taxis charge almost 300rs to reach the property. There are buses / jeeps which goes nearby property to town but it may take sometime. If you are someone like to walk 6kms up and down or have your own vehicle then it is a quite home to...
