I visited Camp Kanatal from Wildex just recently. It was the worst experience I have ever had. I am a travel freak and I frequently travel to places for camping but was the worst experience till date.|| ||I would strictly recommend to everyone not to travel to this destination ever.|| ||Let me start with giving some details:||1. No hospitality. I was waiting for the rooms to be allotted to me for 2 hours and there was no one to listen to me or provide me an update.||2. The water was never available for the 2 days I stayed there and when available, it was too muddy.||3. The food was pathetic and the service was too slow. The quality of the food was pathetic. They were serving rice which I believe was not more than 20rs kg when they are taking 2500 per night (too high than most of the camping sites). The quality of vegetables were low too.||4. They were never able to lit the bonefire. Had to chase them 10times before they could lit up the fire.||5. They are making a fool out of people in the name of adventure activities. Rock climbing is on a piece of stone 20meters high and valley crossing is in the jungle between 2 trees.|| ||They ask for 2500 per pax but they are not worth if they even ask for 1000 rupees.|| ||Also forgot to mention the menace created by the monkeys. They took a lot of our stuff from the camps and the staff was not even bothered and did not take action after multiple reminders.|| ||On the top of it all, I actually made the payment in Advance and when I went and saw the hospitality, I did not want to say. Other people there were also complaining. I called the Delhi branch and asked for a refund and they declined it which is understandable but they were not even ready to rectify things and they told me:||"Jo karna hai kar lo, aisa hi hai bas" (Do or take whatever action you want to take, things are like this only.)|| ||Refrain yourself from going there. Waste of...
Read moreNever visit the Kanatal camp (kanatalcamp.com). You will book their camps hoping to enjoy far way from workplace however the rude staff (Praveen the coordinator) doesn't care about you.||||We selected their "super Deluxe camps" and found following 'amenities':||||1. Used bedsheets||2. Dirty wash-rooms||3. Inadequate water supply||4. Unhygienic food||5. There are no hangers in the camps nor in wash-rooms. This might sound awkward but this is important for everyone||6. Water clogging in wash-rooms||7. No zips in camp and wash-rooms||8. You can feel the water coming into the camp from the wash-rooms||||Overall, the service and food is very poor. Few important things to be declared:||||1. Dinner will be served till 9 pm and post that kitchen will be closed||2: Bonfire will be for 30-45 minutes (they say 2 hours)||3: No first-aid box available||4: Don't keep your belongings with them. They will refuse that they have anything while check-out||5: Evening snacks will include very oily potato pakodi and nothing else (don't expect cheese / onion). ||||For anything you will ask, they will say to check the reservation ticket (voucher you will get from Delhi office). If not written, they will not serve it.||||We booked non veg snacks and we got a medium plate of chicken snacks. We asked for more and they said we don't have more.||||All they need is the money which they will get from you (entire payment) when you will check-in.||||Even now if you want to visit, have your own risk. I am sure you will...
Read moreCamp Wildex is located in a forest area, very near to Club Mahindra Resort. It gives you a really beautiful view of the valley and the weather there is awesome. Located in a place all surrounded by trees makes it all the more chilled. The staff is helpful and they cook delicious food; you can't just stop licking your fingers. BUT!! monkeys are a big nuisance there. You can't just get out of your rooms whenever you feel like, especially in the morning. Therefore, it reduces your self-activities too. Also their tents are a big no-no. Not at all luxurious; you will feel like you are staying in an army base camp. I and my family were lucky enough to find their rooms to be empty and we chose to stay there which were satisfactory. The camp did not have much sapce to loiter around and sit in the open. Parking was to be paid by us separately which was quiet shocking as I have seen it no where. Another thing,if you are going with your family, then Camp Wildex is not what I suggest you. The gentry is not family-kind. Mostly, groups of young boys seek accommodation their (we saw no family). And even for boys (again) self-activities are restricted. I have stayed in Camp Carnival twice, and it's far far better than Camp Wildex. So, I recommend no one...
