A truly memorable and splendid stay at the Dunsvirk Court.
We stayed here on a family trip to Mussorie. The hotel is located on one of the highest points in Mussoorie and the view from the hotel is just amazing. It really is breathtaking and can't be described in words.
We had a very smooth checkin process and were promptly guided to our rooms by the smiling hotel staff, which really was a relief after a tiring journey.
We had 2 category of rooms - the pelican valley view room and the crane suite. The rooms are really tastefully done and oozes comfort and richness. All rooms come with air conditioning which has heaters as well, which is very much required in the extreme cold of Mussorie. The beds are very comfortable and plush and pillows provided are of very good down feather.
The rooms and gallery both have wooden flooring and provides much needed insulation from the extreme cold. The bathroom in crane suite had a bathtub along with a seaparate shower enclosure and the commode had heated seat as a bonus. The pelican rooms had a shower enclosure. The bathrooms had running hot water, though we found that the same is not available in early morning(we checked out at 5 am).
The valley view rooms are a sight for tired eyes- the view of the whole mussorie at night is amazing, and during the day, it feels as if you are staying above the clouds. Do book the valley view rooms instead of regular rooms if you can. It's worth every penny.
The crane suite came with 2 balconies, however it was always so cold outside that we couldn't really put it to use.
Coming to the food, the breakfast spread is pretty nice with a variety of food options available. The food is always served hot and the staff always made sure that everything you want was promptly available and hot. 10/10 for the restaurant staff. Have rarely seen such dedication towards guests. They prepared special Jain food for my mothe everytime we asked, and never answered in the negative for any of our requirements. They even made sure to pack us basic breakfast for our 5 am checkout. Am really impressed.
The hotel lobby and restaurant area is also heated and is really tastefully done. The sitout area with plush carpet is a very nice little space for sitting in with friends and family.
The kids had a great time at the play room which had table tennis, foosball table, pool table, carrom and many othe board games to play.
The room service was really really prompt. Every need was catered to within a minute. Have not even seen this level of service in many 5 star properties. Kudos to the team for it.
Reaching the hotel can be a bit tricky as the drive is pretty damn steep, but it is worth every bit.
Overall, I would rate the hotel 5/5 on all fronts and am looking forward to visit again the next time I come to Mussorie.
Thanks a lot to team Renest Dunsvirk for the memorable stay and I return with a very broad smile and lots of fond memories...

Renest Dunsvirk Court Mussoorie is a gem nestled above the hills, offering a unique blend of history, elegance, and breathtaking views. Once a court, this beautifully restored resort welcomes you with its charming decor and captivating showpieces. The moment you step in, you are greeted by panoramic views of the snow-clad Himalayas and an atmosphere of serenity that makes you feel like you’ve entered a magical world.
What makes this resort truly stand out is its incredible team. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff, who, dressed in khaki, brought a delightful and unique touch—it almost felt like being served by a team of the most gracious officers! Their politeness and heartwarming service created an experience that felt personal and memorable.
The resort itself is impeccably organized, with a clear sense of structure and leadership that ensures every guest is well taken care of. The menu was well-curated and thoughtfully designed, offering a wide range of options. Chef Ram is nothing short of an artist—his ability to transform simple ingredients like beetroot into a salad that felt straight out of MasterChef was extraordinary!
Special thanks to Rohit’s team—Archana, Sarita, and another team member whose name I sadly missed—for their outstanding service. The room service and kitchen staff, including Harsh, Mandeep, Sajan, Jaimal, Suresh, and Aditya, were all incredibly professional and humble. Aditya, in particular, took great care of our rooms and ensured we were comfortable throughout our stay. The team’s dedication to not only delivering meals but also presenting them beautifully and inviting us to taste their creations added a special touch to our dining experience.
Big callout for Shabina and other receptionist I missed his name. Also to Yogendra and Harsh who helped with luggage in extreme weathers. Please bear with me if I have missed any names but I really wanted to mention every single person in the team so that Renest management can acknowledge their efforts in extreme weathers and remote location the resort is setup at.
And then there’s the view—absolutely mesmerizing. Being perched above Mussoorie, you can see the entirety of Dehradun spread out below, and Mussoorie . It’s the kind of view that stays etched in your memory for a lifetime.
Our time at Renest Dunsvirk Court was more than just a stay—it was an experience filled with warmth, professionalism, and unforgettable moments. A big thank you to the entire team for making our visit so memorable. We can’t...
Read moreLocation of property was amazing. The common area was so good and giving very warm vibes. Rooms were ok types. Could've been better. In terms of cleanliness, there were some stains in bathroom platform area (pics shared). Also there was a strange behavior from staff. Since i have mmt credit card and as per that i am eligible for free upgrade. but staff completely deny to upgrade my room telling me that no rooms are available and after sometime they were asking to pay more if I want to opt for upgraded room. Seems they didn't know meaning of 'free upgrade'. Initially my booking was for 1 day. but i wanted to stay for more days in mussoorie so i asked front desk in night if they can give me another room with a view, then only I'll stay otherwise I'll move to another property. After few minutes, front desk person checked with his manager and told me that he will move me to better room and he asked me not to book from mmt. I was ok with it. But in morning there was some lady in front desk. I had no idea what was wrong with her. despite of showing rooms with better category, she was showing rooms which were worst and telling me that no more rooms were available. Since it was weekday and off season so in entire hotel there were not more that 30 guests. I was tired explaining things to her and not in mood of any arguement so i moved just to another room in same category( no upgrade). Then i went out to explore. But when i came back in night, my key card was not working and after talking to front desk person, i came to know that they BLOKCED THE ACCESS OF ROOM BECAUSE THEY WANT ME TO DO PAYMENT FOR NEXT 2 DAYS IN ADVANCE. which hotel do this. Every hotel charge the balance amount at the time of check out. what kind of trust issues these people had. This behaviour completely weird and giving a feeling of a hostel not a hotel like if you dont pay fee you won't be allowed to enter the room. Little worried from which HM college these people get passed.
Rest of the things was ok as per expectations. Food was fine. Nothing extraordinary about this property.
4 star for comfort, rooms 3.5 star for food 1 star for staff...
