We have so many lovely things to say about this stay. We are so happy we chose to stay here. The property is super accessible by Uber, and everywhere around the area is easily travelled to by Uber also, with collection for us being under 10 minutes. It is a 1km walk to the nearest beach at the end of the road, where you can watch fishermen, get a juice/coffee or feed the cute stray dogs. Cherrai Beach is a 30-40 minute Uber ride away, which was really affordable. Public buses are running every few minutes from the top of the road and bring you in both directions, towards Kochi city or to Cherrai beach and further. Multiple shops are within a 5 minute walk from the property - supermarket, food places, pharmacy etc. The area is super quiet and relaxing, we slept so well here. The room is cosy, with a nice seating area outside your room and also upstairs. If you're a breakfast person you will love this stay. Every day we had something new, we feel like there is something for everyone. If you've never had Indian cuisine for breakfast this will be your time to try! :) They were so kind to let us wash our clothes during the stay aswell, supplying us with everything we needed. There was plenty drying space upstairs. The lovely owners are open for chats and are super informative about Kochi and the surrounding areas. We would 100% come back, and would recommend this stay to our friends and family. If you want a relaxing stay with lovely people, this...
Read moreWe have just left Mali Homestay after a one week stay. It is immaculately clean, with a comfortable bed, a very hot shower, and aircon. A washing machine is provided on the roof terrace which is very thoughtful. For us, the location was good as it’s very quiet. We hired a scooter in Fort Kochi and enjoyed the freedom that gave us to explore. We often rode 30 minutes north to Cherai Beach, or 10/15 minutes south to catch the ferry to Fort Kochi.
Restaurants we enjoyed were Rustic Leisure and Cochin Seaport Hotel if you want a beer with your food (2nd floor restaurant). Finally, our hosts Babu and Yancy (forgive my spelling!) were fantastic. Warm, friendly and helpful. Yancy made different Indian breakfasts for us to try every morning, but also made us plain omelette when requested. Thanks to you both for a...
Read moreI was planning for a workation in Kerala for a long time and found out about Mali Homestays during a regular search. What turned out to be just a search became a reality when I finalised my 10-day stay at this property after going through all the prior reviews of the homestay and how good it was. I was warmly welcomed by both Uncle and Aunty, the owners of the homestay, with a refreshing welcome drink. I loved this place for it's serene and calm atmosphere. The highlight of the stay was the breakfast each day, which aunty cooked and every single day was something unique and delightful. It felt just like home away from home.
I am hopeful to go back again to this lovely abode called Mali Homestays and enjoy the hospitality and warmth of both uncle and aunty. Thank you for making my stay so comfortable...
