Bethel Homestay Lepchajagat | Best Mountain View Stay Near Darjeeling — Hotel in West Bengal

We were group of 8 from Hooghly and Burdwan, that visited Lapchajagath in March 2023. Our experience was really awesome. I would rate this property highly. The room size is small-medium sizes, but that is okay. No one expects hotel-like suits/rooms while visiting a homestay at an off-beat location. The owner was really helpful and polite. He personally came down to our room everyday to ensure if everything is okay, and if there is any issues that needs fixing. He accomodated our needs as much as possible. He gave us instructions for local walks and visits and readily arranged for bonfire every evening. The service boys Swapan and Aatish are really awesome. The food they cooked is tasty, yet super light on the stomach. They were always happy to serve us our request. We were feeling too cold at the middle of the night and asked them for extra blankets. They brought them to us almost immediately. We asked for warm drinking water several times, which was taken care of by the boys happily, and most importantly, with a similing face. We stayed in this homestay while in Lepchajagat during May 2023. This is more of a hotel than homestay located at a very prime place at the very entry point of Lepchajagat. This hotel has a large parking space which also serves as a open space (concrete ground) for sitting, strolling and enjoying nature. This is a unique feature of this hotel as I could not trace any other hotel or homestay at Lepchajagat with such open space in the front. All basic amenities are available here in the rooms with attached toilets. The rooms are pretty good with ours (in 1st floor) having a beautiful view of pine forest. Kanchenjunga range is also viewable from the room but sadly we couldn't experience the same due to cloudy weather. But pine forests occasionally getting fully covered in travelling clouds was a beautiful experience. One more feature of this hotel is its proximity to the pine forest. By taking a shortcut one can directly go the pi e forest within two minutes. The staffs were well behaved and cooperative. Tariffs are moderate. Food is good and tastes OK. Rooms are decent But the management and service is not at all good.

They don’t have power backup option for 24 hrs as per them they will only run generator at the night where there is no need of it and if there is power cut in the morning then you have take bath with the cold water itself.

Concern person don’t know how to deal with problem and situation if you tell him your problem. that’s a crime according to him rather giving solution he will argue and fight with you

• we told the management person to clean the bathroom on the day of check-in he didn’t turned up till checkout.

No staff available at the ground floor if you need someone you need to search him or shout loudly.
