Bloomfield Farmhouse and Eco-Resort — Hotel in West Bengal

We had an exceptional stay at the Bloomfield resort recently!!

Bloomfield farmhouse is nestled about 4 kms from the Darjeeling railway station and is located in a peaceful locality called the Orange Valley. The view from the resort is spectacular and on a clear day, one can easily see the Kanchenjunga peaks from your room or from the property. The real winner at this farmhouse is the splendid hospitality shown by Mr. Milan, Arun, Nayan, Krishna, Sreejana, Panda, Sonam, Bishal and many more helpful localities who go the extra length to make your stay worth it. They all work harmoniously throughout your stay and cater to every need whether it be your meals or your tours or just setting up a bonfire with a barbeque! The rooms are very cozy and spacious. Do note that some rooms have attached bathrooms while some have external bathrooms. In terms of access to the property, vehicles can go up to a certain point and from there, one needs to walk down to the property via a short staircase dotted route.

We would recommend this property if you have kids and are in good shape as it requires a bit of climb and descent from/to the property via these stairs. It is not a very difficult climb as it takes about 5-10 minutes each way, but it may not be suitable for senior citizens. The steps to the farmhouse take you through local houses and their lifestyle which is a treat to the eyes. Bloomfield has its own pool of vehicles which can be booked to drop/pickup from key locations in the town and they are always happy to arrange sightseeing tours. Food at the resort is very homely and served hot inside their wooden hut which is another highlight.

All in all, Bloomfield is the place to be if you want to avoid the frustrating traffic jams in the main town of Darjeeling and head out to your sightseeing spots easily by bypassing the arterial roads which are always choked. At this resort, you will have access to the cleanest air, pictures views, homely food and top notch hospitality by the Bloomfield family which will draw you back to this property...

We stayed for two weeks at Bloomfield Farmhouse and Eco-Resort, from the end of September until the beginning of October. From day one, the host, Milan, and his team were very welcoming and did their best to make our stay pleasant. Milan provided a car to pick us up at the airport. The car was new and comfortable, perfectly suited for a family of four. Special thanks to the driver, Ramesh, who is skilled and careful.

On the day of our arrival, the sky was clear, and from the top floor of our hotel, we managed to see the third highest peak in the world—Kangchenjunga. The view was fantastic! I am attaching a photo for you guys.

The location of the hotel is perfect for people who would like to have a peaceful and relaxing holiday without being disturbed by city noise. The photos of the hotel and its surroundings that you see on the internet accurately depict the real picture of the place—it's a lovely spot!

The service in our room was very good. Whatever we asked for, we were provided with. The food was very tasty; special thanks to the chef, Krishna, who ensured that during our visit we enjoyed only the best homemade meals!

Thanks to Milan and Ramesh, we visited beautiful places nearby, such as a pine tree forest, tea gardens, a Japanese temple, and many more!

In the evenings, we gathered and sang next to the fireplace. On our last day of stay, Milan treated us with some delicious wine!

All in all, we are very happy with our stay at Bloomfield Farmhouse and Eco-Resort and highly recommend it to anyone who wants a truly welcoming experience in a beautiful place...
