Belmont Homes — Hotel in West Bengal

Belmont Homes has been like a second home and we will definitely come back if we are revisiting India! The hospitality, helpfulness and warmth that we have received from Punam and her lovely family has made our Darjeeling trip one to keep in our hearts forever.

Before arriving to Darjeeling, Punam and her family were helpful with tips on what to get up to in Darjeeling and was there to help us with any questions we had. They arranged a cab to pick us up at the airport and Punams Husband Bidhan came with the driver from Belmont Homes to welcome us and show us some beautiful spots along the way to the Homestay.

Upon arriving to Belmont Homes we received a very warm welcome from Punam and other family members and a home-cooked, local lunch. We were all amazed by the view and the following days Bidhan was our tour guide around Darjeeling showing us must-visits like the sunrise at Tiger Hill, Rock Garden and Batasia Loop with always a good story or interesting fact close at hand. The family took great care in making sure we would have the maximum Darjeeling experience and see as much of the Darjeeling Beauty as possible in the 3 days we stayed.

One of our favourite parts of the trip was the bonfire night before we left. Coming from Sweden we were sad to not celebrate Christmas with our family so lovely as always Punam invited us to their celebration!

At the homestay there were complementary blankets and electric blankets but there was an additional cost of 300 rupees per night to rent a room heater. Each home-cooked, local meal cost about 150 - 200 rupees per person.
