While the resort offered a passable room, meeting only the lowest expectations, the overall experience left much to be desired. The location itself presented a significant drawback, with a stark absence of any engaging activities in the vicinity, limiting one's options to a brief evening visit to the unfinished Murti River bridge. Alarmingly, the safety aspect proved to be a major concern, highlighted by a persistently unlocked window in our room. Despite repeated notifications, the management's dismissive attitude and refusal to address the security vulnerability forced us into an uncomfortable situation of having to remain vigilant throughout the night. Although the property boasted walkable spaces, suggesting it as a primary reason for booking would be ill-advised, as similar or better experiences could be easily found elsewhere. The culinary aspect was a mixed bag; while a few standard breakfast items were acceptable, the food service was notably poor and seemingly biased. Read moreI recently stayed at Green Vista Resort, Mangalbari, for two days, and my experience was a mix of positives and negatives.
Starting with the positives, the rooms are well-built with good interiors, offering a comfortable stay. However, the specific room allotted to us (a 4-sharing room on the first floor) had some notable flaws. While minor issues like a defective cistern and the absence of drawers near the desk could be overlooked, the broken inner lock of the main door was a serious concern that shouldn't have been ignored.
Food quality was good, but the pricing seemed slightly on the higher side. The restaurant’s ambience, however, needs improvement—flies were a constant nuisance, and cats frequently entered the dining area. The resort does have a swimming pool, but its hygiene did not meet expected standards.
One crucial aspect to consider before choosing this resort is its atmosphere. If you’re visiting with friends and looking for a lively, party-filled nightlife, this place can be a great option. However, if you are seeking a peaceful family retreat in a calm setting, Green Vista may not be ideal, as loud music continues even past 10 PM.
The management of the hotel is however good and the staffs are courteous and efficient.
Overall, Green Vista Resort has potential, but certain areas—especially restaurant maintenance need...
Read moreGreen Vista Resort at Chalsa has, indeed, opened a new vista of relishing the purity and sereneness of Dooars' Nature lying in the lap of Nature itself. The resort allured us with its majestic looks and convenient location. Tourists can visit a good many spots steeped in mesmerizing hills, forests, rivers and fountains making this record their base camp. Light and airy rooms are clean, tidy and spacious. What captivated us most was its nicely-cooked food. The very sight of the swimming pool will tempt you to jump into it. This kind of well-furnished pool is very rare in the hotels and resorts of north bengal. The politeness and time -keeping of the room service deserved our admiration and thankfulness.
