Gorumara Jungle resort — Hotel in West Bengal

While the rooms were decent and offered value for money during our stay for a family get-together, the overall experience was worst by subpar service. Despite booking for a group of around 40, there were several issues: Just before the scheduled outdoor event with BBQ and campfire, we were informed that the outdoor halogen light was out of order and couldn't be fixed. Consequently, we had to relocate to an adjacent area. They provided music system was non-functional, and at our request they co-ordinated for music system from market for which we paid separately. Even that did not work in desired manner. t. At 10 pm, when we asked for dinner for our small children, we were informed that chicken was being prepared, leaving us with no option but to feed our kids without chicken. The following morning, the breakfast (roti and potato sabji) was not ready until 1030 hrs, and we concluded our breakfast at 12pm. Great place to stay. This resort is located near to Lataguri rather than inside the Gorumara sanctuary; but the environment and location around the place is just amazing. You get 2 types of accommodations - standalone cottages (independent wooden cottages) and hotel rooms. I took up the room as accommodation.

The facilities are good; the management is thoughtful and considerate in arranging for stuff. You get a TV (full entertainment package with access to sports and movie channels), 24/7 hot water in a standard room setup.

The food is tasty and comfortably priced. You can pick and choose Bengali delicacies as you prefer with the only requirement being to order ahead of time.

The staff is very cooperative; I had my safari planned and executed by the resort management.

The only possible draw back would be a lack of personnel at night - specifically in the event of an emergency. If you have a case like that, better consult with the resort before you make...

Great of its kind with open jeep jungle safari. But the safari was not which our heart says that contend!! Feels that wish could had been a bit longer route. Not much animals to to see and perhaps its all depend on individual luck timing and season to get the chance to come across the wild animals. I was lucky to see family of 3 Elephants and twice Peacock and nothing else. Wish could had seen Bisons and Rhinos. As its their territories. Due to which I didnt gave 5 stars. But its always the best and memories will cherish of the invading Jungle...
