JMD RESORT — Hotel in West Bengal

Will not be going back again. If you wat to go to enjoy Swimming pool, and food then please call beforehand and ask if pool is clean or not. Else it's not worth it.

Pros: The Resort is great to look at and the best parts of the resort are the swimming pool(post cleaning), garden and food.

Cons: As it was raining, the Swimming Pool was completely dirty. We had to repeatedly argue with the Management for 1 day before they agreed to clean the pool by changing the water. We had booked rooms for 3 days and 1 was wasted. They only gave 2 towels to each room and we had 12 people in 4 rooms, which caused a lot of issues. When asked for extra towel, they straight forward denied availability. This happened for all 3 days. If you have a swimming pool, you should have extra towels available. (THE WORST CON) This was the first time ever that we had to reuse the used towels. :( The cleaner did not clean the bathroom just because we asked him to come after 1 hour as we were going to take bath then. He has a specific time from 11AM -1PM only. When we asked the Housekeeping team, they were very rude and said why wasn't it cleaned when the person was here. Two rooms had the AC not working properly. After we complained, they came and restarted the AC and it worked for a few mins and again failed. This happened multiple times and no resolution till we checked out. The management was least bothered by all our complaints. We would complain and they would listen earnestly, but that's it. Thank You JMD Resort for helping me out through a tough situation... On 26th December I faced harassment in another hotel from its owner which made me panic as it was becoming security issue for me, me being solo traveller, it was 8.30 pm and i needed a secured place for the night. Due to year end and peak tourism time it seemed a dire situation to find a room in a good hotel but i took my chance and called up JMD resort at a phone number i found from google i asked for help directly as in a room and a pick up car... The person who picked up my call ( turned out to be the manager Satyabrata Maity) who proved to understand my situation very well and immideately arranged for car and welcomed me to their hotel... Within 40 -45 mins I had checked in their clean and comfortable room and was safe for the night... In the morning I viewed the premises and found it to be very beautiful with multiple comfortable sitting arrangements, swings(my childhood favourites) and BBQ and bonfire arrangements.. The room i stayed was warm, extremely clean and comfortable.. The behaviour and hospitality of the staffs including the manager is commendable and they did prove that a solo traveller can look upto them if they need safety and support in a place away from home... Once again JMD thank u...

It's a good place if you are looking for weekend refresher or a junction if you are interested in visiting doors for couple of days. Staffs are very gentle and professional. Cook is awesome that may be the reason food price is on higher end. You have 2 swimming pools, place for bon fire, fitness place, bicycle and many more. Few improvement points, On ground house keeping is not available after 12 PM. My little son started puking in the night while sleeping and messed the linen, blanket and some portion of the floor. Due to unavailability of house keeping, we had to clean the floor and linen. But the blanket can't be cleaned by us. So we escalated it to the manager and he managed another blanket. The on ground saviour is the electrical engineer. My heartful thanks to both of them to save my night. But thinking of little kids and aged guest they should provide bare minimum on ground house keeping at night as well. Put some more charging points keeping in mind that guests are now more used to with different...
