This is an absolute gem of a place that you will keep coming back to!
I was recently on a solo trip (Feb '22) and stayed in this place for 6 days straight. Everything about the place is perfect - the location, hospitality and quality. And each of them deserves some elaboration:
Location: Manabari is surrounded by tea gardens, hills and rivers. It's offbeat but very well connected. There's no crowding of tourists yet you'll get all the charm of Dooars in your vicinity. It's only a short 20 mins drive from Mal Junction station if you're coming via Kanchan Kanya Express. If you're flying into Bagdogra it's around 2 hours drive over smooth roads.
Hospitality: The place has an old world charm and peace that you'll fall in love with. But the best part of the resort are the people. Everyone I came across was super helpful and eager to make your experience memorable. I had the good luck of staying here while the owner, Mr Majumder was also here and he was such a good company - his stories over the evening tea will stay with you for a long time. Special mention to the kitchen staff - they love to pamper the guests with food and everything they serve is lip smacking good. The resort will also arrange all types of experiences based on your preference. We went on diverse activities like bird watching, river bed off-roading, jungle safari and day trips to Alipurduar and Jhandi (a hill station near Lava). Whether you are here to relax with a book or on adventure, they have you covered!
Quality: The estate is huge and everything from the rooms, lawns and pathways are well maintained. The main building with the dining room is in the original bungalow and is the perfect place to sit and relax with a cup of tea and a book. The rooms are spread out across the garden from the main bungalow - and are clean, comfortable and have all the basic amenities in place. Whether you are traveling solo, with friends or with family, you will feel at home here.
Overall, if you are looking to visit Dooars and are someone who appreciates a peaceful, relaxing holiday - look no further. But stay here at least 3 days to truly appreciate what this place has to offer. Do note that they do not take online booking, so call up on the phone numbers given in their website and book your stay...
