Rishaan Cottages home stay and Restaurant — Hotel in West Bengal

Based on the reviews I trusted this hotel and booked for 2 nights.

I will divide the review in the following parts-

Room- 4/5 Rooms are decent and clean. Most of the things are fine and however the should mentain the proper hygyne( We discoverd spider in the room), few lights of the room are not working.

Location -5/5 Location is also good and placed in good locality where local market is in 2 mins of walking distance.

Service- 0/5 They don't know what guest satisfaction is or how to delight a guest so that the guest comes again. Staffs are not properly as they don't know the proper way to communicate with a Guest. At times they went disrespectful and which is not really acceptable. The way they talk with guests are not proper and approach is really not acceptable. They behaved very rudely when asked for demostrating the Geyser operations twice. Their Door locking facility was not working properly they behaved rudely.

Food (Tastewise) - 2/5 Food taste was average.

Charges Pattern and System - 0/5 They will not provide you extra water outside of package in free of cost. They took 25 INR for 1 Litr drinkable water. They refused to provide regular drinkable water. In breakfast they provide Tea. They asked me to pay extra while I requested for Tea just 15 mins earlier from the usual breakfast.

Hotel industry runs on Word of Mouth. If guests are not happy then they won't come again and also not recommend to anyone. I was also having a great expectations regarding this hotel after seeing the reviews in google but later on I realised that all these reviews are faked or maybe paid.

Finally, even if the rooms are good but their service is not, so I won't recommend this property to...

Location and room was good but their services were pathetic...

Pros:

1. Room (deluxe cottages) was very good neat and clean..so was bathroom
2. Location was good
3. theme of the homestay was good(it may be compared with a 3star hotel)
4. They can arrange travel car very fast with reasonable price.

Cons:

1. Room services was not provided very well 2)they will not provide food in your room 3)there was no room heater (you have to rent it)
2. they provide breakfast on or after 9am ...even if you request 10min before they will not provide... their refusing attitude was quite disrespectful...They didn't parcel my breakfast on my sight seeing day... saying that they don't have enough parcel pot.
3. there was almost 5 to 6 pet(cat and dog) which will enter in your balcony after eating all those waste food of bone fire on previous day(not cleared) 6)No TV(at least after sunset)
4. No service personnel will call you Sir or madam...some of them don't have basic manners...never say Goodmorning or anything...all of them(at least 4 or 5) will Lough loudly seeing TV in the dinning room where you will be taking your meal with your wife... 8)they have very less food options
5. they will charge you for anything you order within your package even before 10min(they charged me for coffee and after 10min they bring the same for free(package) which I refused 10)Owner of the homestay should be more cheerful and interactive and should have a watchful eye on those...

Spacious room, good service, great vew of hills. I stayed in super delux Cottage no 3. I recommend to book cottages rather than delux rooms adjucent to the dining. There are three super delux cottages at an elevation, cottage no 1 being the first and then the remaining two in a row. Pros 1. Clean spacious room and bathroom. Delicious food. Fish curry available. Good service by the staff. Ample area inside, space for car parking and a sitting area from where one can gaze on the distant mountains. Could pay online the entire money before check out.

Cons. Not much, but hot water was not available in the basin of the washroom. Management should look into it. Geyser is there. So it requires a little plumbing work. That's all. PS. This is more like a resort rather than a homestay. For elderly people not willing to negotiate staircase at all , book delux cottage / rooms adjucent to the dining room. Though elevation of the super delux cottages is not much. Though very near to sitting market but away from the hustle and bustle of market. SBI...
