When we stayed, the hotel had many other guests also and everyone had same set of complaints... starting with asking for towels, soaps, water etc. in room. But this was just start. The toilet was left wet, so we asked to clean it up. The staff is so untrained that after cleaning another person came with some toiletries with slippers on in the bathroom, again made a mess of it. Asked him to put toilet roll, but he couldn't. In the end had to place the toilet roll myself and also cleaned up the bathroom with a wiper myself. Then, they gave only one towel, so I asked for one more and the manager was clear that the rule is to provide only one towel per room (only after we insisted and threatened him with approaching our travel agent and owner of hotel, he relented).
It still didn't end here though. For food, the manager and staff was so smart that they put ration on the consumption... only 2 rotis per person and for people who eat eggs, only one egg from egg-curry..simply hilarious for a 3-star advertised hotel. One set of family occupying multiple rooms finally resorted to having dinner at a nearby hotel 'Apple Orchard', that seems to maintain quality on ground not just on internet.
Later in night, when I complained to my tour operator, I got a call from the owner (from Kolkata) who did hear my ordeal and the manager was told to do his job properly. I just hope that he improves in managing the hotel better.
If you happen to stay, please post your review and update other readers, if the situation has improved or not. I don't trust the previous...
Read moreWe actually did not stay at the hotel. This hotel was arranged by the tour operator, Mountain Milestone, for the stay in Lachen on the way to Gurudongmar lake. We reached around evening 6 pm when it was already dark in Lachen. When we entered the reception, the people were not bothered or interested to see us. We asked for tea and they said they are preparing for dinner. We asked for dinner and they said it will only be ready by 9 pm. We said ok, got the keys and went to the room on 2nd floor. Room was dirty, carpet was filthy and bathroom was very dirty. Room and hall area had a heavy smell of smoke. There were paint chips peeling off of hotel walls. Overall it felt shady and not proper for a family. I googled and found another hotel nearby. Walked there and checked out the room. It was good and so we paid extra from our pocket and moved to the other hotel. Only thing good about this hotel is that, it’s on main road to Gurudongmar lake. But that’s the same case with other hotels also. I do not recommend this hotel to any family or couples. If your tour operator puts you up here, ask for...
Read moreThe room tariff was ₹2600 a night. However, as per my experience, it should not exceed a maximum of ₹1000-₹1200 by any means, even during the busiest season. And to my surprise, I got to know from a staff member that, the tariff indeed was around ₹1500 or so. Running a budget hotel is absolutely fine, however – charging way above your standard, that too in the name of so-called 'tourist season' is not, that's defrauding.
There are issues with the overall room quality, big time. Even after changing the room initially given, nothing really changed inside. Same dirty room, dirty bed, dirty toilet. I won't even talk about food! I won't even talk about people managing the reception either. The manager was roaming around drunk and I read some other review as well that tells the same story. Such intoxicated hospitality much wow!
Since you are into this business, you should really think about the overall wellbeing of it, and this is not how you run your business!
I still cannot figure out what made me choose this one!
DO NOT make the same mistake as I did – highly NOT...
