Hotel Border View — Hotel in Zanskar Range

Only good as a quick overnight rest between Srinagar n Leh. Would not recommend this for anyone other than a solo motorcyclist on a budget. Has safe parking for your motorcycle. It is safe for girls too (The whole of the UT of Ladakh is) but I would not recommend it as the hygiene levels are questionable. It is right beside the Srinagar-Leh highway and right at the entrance of Kargil town when coming from Srinagar. So if you have tanked up your fuel before you get here then you can have a really early morning start and reach Leh by noon. Works very well for that. And a special word for the reception boy, Abbas. He was very friendly and helpful. When I set out to find some dinner (though they can order it in for you to th stay itself) he offered to walk with me to th market area, recommended a nice Dhaba where the locals eat. He even sponsored my dinner. Showed me around Kargil town too.. like it's Food street and the place where scenes from the Bollywood movie Sheersha was shot. It was an interesting walk. Good stay We booked this hotel through Agoda, but unfortunately, the hotel did not receive any confirmation from Agoda. Later, we learned from the hotel staff that they had blocked bookings from Agoda due to the higher discounts offered. However, the hotel manager, Mr. Abass, assisted us and promised a full refund from Agoda. Therefore, it is advisable to avoid booking through Agoda. Otherwise, the hotel is in a great location.
