Well, I would say this is the worst one from all my experience staying in 4 stars hotel. We stayed 5d4n. Not even a single day we were happy staying here.
This hotel was in my bucket list since 2012. This year I got a chance to go to Lampung with family so I chose this hotel right away.
When we arrived at the hotel, the security just stood still, not even greeting, not opening the car's door until my husband get off the car and told him to call the bell boy. What a late respon from 4 stars hotel security. Did the management train him right?
The lobby area wasn't really wide. There was no communal area where you can sit freely. Just seating area near the bar and restaurant. There was outdoor area too but that was part of restaurant. No playground for children, no grass field fot kids roaming around. How dissappointed for such big hotel.
We got room 1115 with beautiful ocean and mountain view and secret room since we asked the edge room. This is the only thing that I give 5 stars from this hotel.
The in room mini fridge didn't work, not cold at all. Such a problem for moms who need to store and cook baby food. If you need to refrigerate baby food you should ask kitchen staff. Going up and down was the real problem, it was tiring.
Amenities were just simple. Mirror was only in bathroom. No clothing line for drying wet swimsuit.
The service in this hotel was totally awful. The next day, I went around the city until almost evening, my room hadn't been tidied up though we had already turned on the housekeeping sign. I need to call first then it was tidied up.
While waiting, we went to the restaurant. We just wanted a drink. After I ordered only one item of drink, the waiter showed us unpleasant face. The waitress who delivered my drink also did the same thing when I said I didn't want to order some food.
Breakfast was nothing special but the choices of food varied.
The front staff of restaurant asked us for paying extra bill since we brought our oldest son to have breakfast too. At first my husband said to her, he had deposited money for extra breakfast in receptionist, but she insisted to pay there. She called receptionist but none answered so she told us to go back to our room until she got answer, and told us to go back again to the restaurant. LOL, why did she want to make us going up and down? no way. I told her I waited there to finish it. In the end, she gave up and let us go. Funny thing, the next day, she did that again, told us to pay the bill there. So my husband said okay and asked the total since the first day. Instead of charging my son, she charged my husband so we protested. The last day, a waitress took my baby foodmaker when taking dirty dishes from our table. Duude...
Will I go back? Nope, once is enough. This hotel is not baby friendly, not stoller/wheelchair friendly. Even the access to the swimming pool is only ladders. Nice for honeymooners, but not...
Read moreI'm an Accor member and use their hotels in other countries ,but Novotel Lampung and its policies are an embarrassment to Accor ,The hotel is actually very nice,but runs very badly and the reason for my low rating isn't the hotel ,it's the way it's managed . First of all we booked the weekend rate ,which is higher than weekday rates , I recommend "do not stay at weekends" as they host weddings and birthday parties on both days of our stay ,and the parties take over ,the hotel seems to put them in front of staying guests .I was laid by the pool trying to relax and it was noisy as they had set up a stage and were doing a party soundcheck ,then started to bring out the party chairs and tables, and from staff looks it was very obvious they wanted me out the way ,even though I'm a paying guest ,then in the evening myself and my partner had planned to sit under the stars by the pool and enjoy a relaxing drink ,but the whole area was taken up by the party and it seemed we weren't even allowed out by the pool,this hotel cater weekends for outside guests,so as a hotel guest it will ruin your stay ,avoid it at weekends . we arrived on a motorbike after travelling across java to Sumatra ,the underground covered parking is only for cars ,I have an expensive nice bike and it was out in the rain for our stay ,they have a security ticket system for entry for vehicles,which is needed as a lot of non guest go to this hotel , hotel room guests don't pay for parking ,only visitors ,I put the small paper ticket in my pocket and forgot while I swam ,so it was ruined ,reception told me I must show my bike documents ,which is ok and I did ,and even though I'm paying a lot for my hotel room and they have my room number and bike registration ,they charged me 30,000 idr for loss small ordinary paper ticket and 4 hrs parking ,as I wanted to go out .This is disgusting customer treatment and a cheap way to get money ,also ridiculous parking fee for 4 hrs in Indonesia ,it's totally rude policy ,I'm a Accor member and staying two weekend nights at the hotel and the rooms are not cheap ,so this is the worst policy I've ever seen anywhere in the world,it's very primitive and backwards policy ,I would never go back to this hotel ,I've stayed in cheaper hotels in Lampung that are much better ,I had High hopes of Novotel as it's an Accor group hotel and I use Accor all round the world as there great ,but Novotel was very poor . Avoid especially at weekends as you pay higher booking rate only to be disturbed and not have good access to facilities as the hotel seems to run there side events business...

Not worth the money! It's too pricey compared to other hotel but the service you got is awful!
If you bring your toddlers (above 5 yol) be prepared to get charged IDR 96K !.. the kids don't even eat much..only eat koko krunch. The hospitality is very poor. No wonder the hotel is so quiet!
The breakfast are awful! Only chicken and sausage! You won't get beef.
The staffs and security /doorman at the lobby won't greet you nor your kids..do not expect they will help you with your bags or opening you car's door or else.
At 9 pm.. all the lights and air conditioner are turned off.. in the lobby.. we were sitting drinking at the lobby with a very dim light and no air contioner. The girl from the bar turn off the light without any notice to the customer who are sitting there. We were quite surprised!. so if you just get back from the downtown which is far away..than you will get dark lobby.
You want the scenery? Sea view? Do not expect too much...it's not that good guys!..warehouses along the sea shore. Room with sea view prices IDR300k more.
The swimming pools are small.
One more thing: they didn't clean the carpet in the room. It's dusty and had a lot of crumbs. iDR 1.2mio for substandard room.
We were very disappointed! Not like the other novotel hotel in bogor. and palembang... this one...
