Grand Elty Singgasana Hotel — Hotel in Borneo

I stayed in the hotel for 7 nights in 2013. It is definitely the best hotel in Tenggarong. It has a quite big swimming pool which is also visited by the locals. The rooms are clean, quiet, and quite big, hot water runs 24 hours and they all have a/c. The view from the lounge is superb. The staff are helpful and polite although do not expect any tourist information from them, they are clueless when it comes to such things. I asked them about the boat to the next towns and they had no idea where it leaves from or who could help me find out. They are very friendly though and I won't forget their wide smiles. Most speak basic English, some do not. Most clients are Indonesians. We did not see any other foreigners in Tenggarong although it is a good starting point for a trip in the spectacular Mahakam river. The wifi was quite weak in our room so I had to go to the lounge. This hotel is quite modern, it just needs to be re-touched both from the design and equipment. the inner court makes the room arrangement more comfortable

We stayed in this hotel for an 8- day international conference. It could be told that the hotel was old but under good management. The staff were patience, and kind and willing to help. The double room was equipped with one bed only and an extra bed could be asked if you didn't get used to sleeping with other on the same bed. From the three meals we had there, the breakfast was the best with more varieties. There is a night club in the basement where loud music was played for which it was a bit noisy at night.
