Horrible Value.
This hotel looks very pretty in the pictures, but it was a total disappointment. I'd go someplace else.
At roughly $100 per night per double room, I expected this hotel to be luxurious by Indonesian standards. Sadly, this was not the case. I've spent half this amount on much much nice hotels. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to hotels, and I think I have reasonable expectations: clean+quiet rooms, hot water for a shower, and no mosquitoes (I don't mind other bugs! I just don't want the kind that bite !).
Why this hotel is bad:
The grounds are very pretty, and the pool and private beach is nice. However, some parts of the grounds smell like sewage, and there is quite a bit of trash around the beach.
The one thing that was nearly half-decent was the breakfast. Buffet style, this breakfast had a decent number of Western + Indonesian breakfast foods. The quality/taste of the food was average, but at the very least, you can eat a...
Read moreService is amazing here! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Soap and shampoo provided, but make sure to bring your own conditioner! Toothbrush, toothpaste, and shower cap also provided along with slippers. We asked for a late check out, which was available, but for an up charge. They did offer to hold our luggage like most hotels. Free breakfast with our stay and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of local and international options, noodles, vegetables eggs, hashbrowns or french fries depending on the day. Included pastries, fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Not a huge fan of the coffee, but everything else was incredible. All the juices were made fresh to order, which was such a treat, and the watermelon here is my favorite! There’s a lovely Koi pond next to the restaurant, and you can hear the fountains and look at the fish while you are eating. The pool was the best part of the hotel, a unique design with lush islands and an infinity edge looking at the beach. Pirate ships and other Indonesian islands on the horizon… Beautifully landscaped property with a very calm, quiet vibe. There is a dive shop on property out by the pool that offers excursions and tours, though we didn’t know this was here until we arrived so we booked with an outside company. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back again. Huge thanks to the Bintang Flores staff for making our...
Read moreWe stayed in Bintang Flores Hotel for 4 nights and it was a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is actually a bit of distance from Labuan Bajo city centre, as in Nov 2018 there were not any restaurants or shops around. To walk to the city centre, it would take 30 minutes, you can book a taxi through the hotel and cost Rp.50,000 each way and that can cost quite a bit if you go and back a couple of times each day. I would suggest renting a scooter from the hotel. Breakfast is buffet style with quite a good option but a lot of flies while we were there, they said it because of Mango season. The staffs are friendly & helpful, I could tell they might have short of times a couple of times but they did the best they could. Maybe the best part of this hotel is the pool area (please see my photos) which is adjacent to the beach. The beach can be a bit dirty in the afternoon especially after rain, I believe the hotel staff cleans it out but rubbish comes in from other areas, You'd see rubbish everywhere in Labuan Bajo. The garden is quite beautiful and well-maintained but can be a bit muddy after the rain. One thing I would suggest to the hotel is to trim the tall trees as they are blocking the view from the rooms, our room was in the high floor but they were very tall trees blocking the view of the view and Labuan...
