I recently stayed at Bintang Flores Hotel in Labuan Bajo for two days and had an exceptional experience. The hospitality was warm and welcoming. The breakfast offered a wide variety of delicious options, adding to the overall pleasant stay. The hotel boasts excellent facilities, including a swimming pool with direct access to the beach, allowing guests to enjoy sunbathing by the pool. Additionally, there is a gym and other amenities available. The parking area is spacious, and the service was friendly and efficient. While my stay was largely positive, there are a few areas that could be improved, such as the cleanliness of certain corners of the rooms and the parking area. However, these minor issues were overshadowed by the beauty and comfort of the hotel. It’s worth noting that the food prices at the hotel are relatively high, but the quality and variety justify the cost. Additionally, the hotel’s location makes it difficult to find nearby dining options, but you can conveniently order food through online apps like Go-Food or Grab. Overall, I highly recommend staying at Bintang Flores Hotel. Its proximity to the city and comprehensive facilities make it an excellent choice for anyone visiting Labuan Bajo.

I believe Bintang Flores is one of the best hotels in Labuan Bajo. Me and my wife stayed for 4 days and 3 nights at Bintang Flores. The room was very spacious, and the AC in the room was very cold, we even had to adjust the temperature several times so it wasn't too cold (we are Indonesian hehe). Their swimming pool is also very pleasant. The location of Bintang Flores is right on the edge of Pede Beach. This beach is actually a public beach, it has a very beautiful sunset view. Unfortunately all the beaches we visited in Labuan Bajo were very dirty, maybe this is a homework for the Labuan Bajo local government. The staff at Bintang Flores were very friendly and really helpful. Several times we were helped to arrange motorbike rental and one day boat trips, especially by Mr. Rahmat. Even when we were no longer staying at Bintang Flores, Mr. Rahmat was still willing to help us arrange the airport transfer when we were about to go home. Every time we passed the staff, they would always greet and smile at us. We love staying at Bintang Flores. When we go to Labuan Bajo again, we will definitely stay at Bintang Flores. Best regards for Mr. Rahmat.

Piles of burning trash surrounding hotel! Stayed here a few times. Great pool. Only pool in town that is properly suitable for kids. However the beach is a nightmare. Broken glass and plastic. This is not just the beach in front of hotel...its all the beaches. But the deep and shameful issue is that the hotel cleans up their own beach... And burns it all! Piles of plastic burning right in front of Hotel! The rooms smelled of this burning plastic in the morning. Their is no hiding it, no embarrassment... Staff, in uniform raking the beach and then burning the plastic. See photos. The massive amounts of plastic in the oceans here and the beaches speaks volumes about over tourism and the local governments lack of regard for the natural resources or health of the community (all this plastic goes straight into the food chain). But the hotel should have some kind of respect. They should have more regard for the very thing that people came to see... And with the burning plastic coming into the hotel itself... They should have more respect for the guests and the staff who are exposed to this every day.

Horrible Value.

This hotel looks very pretty in the pictures, but it was a total disappointment. I'd go someplace else.

At roughly $100 per night per double room, I expected this hotel to be luxurious by Indonesian standards. Sadly, this was not the case. I've spent half this amount on much much nice hotels. I'm pretty easy to please when it comes to hotels, and I think I have reasonable expectations: clean+quiet rooms, hot water for a shower, and no mosquitoes (I don't mind other bugs! I just don't want the kind that bite !).

Why this hotel is bad:

  1. Dirty rooms. There were obvious nasty-looking stains on the white blankets and the walls. There were dead flies on the floor.
  2. Mosquitos in the rooms. My parents had one room, and my fiancee and I had a separate room. My fiancee and I had to switch rooms (see: 3), so I saw a total of 3 rooms. All 3 had many mosquitos. Not 1-2 mosquitos, many. I killed at least 8 in my second room before I lost track of how many I was killing... my Dad theorizes the mosquitoes might be living under the shower drains, so we covered the drains... I don't know if that worked, though..
  3. Sewage smell. Somewhere near the property there is sewage. Subsequently, some rooms smell like sewage. Luckily, not all rooms smell like sewage, so ask to be switched if yours does.

The grounds are very pretty, and the pool and private beach is nice. However, some parts of the grounds smell like sewage, and there is quite a bit of trash around the beach.

The one thing that was nearly half-decent was the breakfast. Buffet style, this breakfast had a decent number of Western + Indonesian breakfast foods. The quality/taste of the food was average, but at the very least, you can eat a...

Service is amazing here! The rooms were clean and comfortable. Soap and shampoo provided, but make sure to bring your own conditioner! Toothbrush, toothpaste, and shower cap also provided along with slippers. We asked for a late check out, which was available, but for an up charge. They did offer to hold our luggage like most hotels. Free breakfast with our stay and the breakfast buffet had a wide variety of local and international options, noodles, vegetables eggs, hashbrowns or french fries depending on the day. Included pastries, fruit, orange juice, and coffee. Not a huge fan of the coffee, but everything else was incredible. All the juices were made fresh to order, which was such a treat, and the watermelon here is my favorite! There’s a lovely Koi pond next to the restaurant, and you can hear the fountains and look at the fish while you are eating. The pool was the best part of the hotel, a unique design with lush islands and an infinity edge looking at the beach. Pirate ships and other Indonesian islands on the horizon… Beautifully landscaped property with a very calm, quiet vibe. There is a dive shop on property out by the pool that offers excursions and tours, though we didn’t know this was here until we arrived so we booked with an outside company. We loved our stay and can’t wait to come back again. Huge thanks to the Bintang Flores staff for making our...

We stayed in Bintang Flores Hotel for 4 nights and it was a pleasant experience. The hotel itself is actually a bit of distance from Labuan Bajo city centre, as in Nov 2018 there were not any restaurants or shops around. To walk to the city centre, it would take 30 minutes, you can book a taxi through the hotel and cost Rp.50,000 each way and that can cost quite a bit if you go and back a couple of times each day. I would suggest renting a scooter from the hotel. Breakfast is buffet style with quite a good option but a lot of flies while we were there, they said it because of Mango season. The staffs are friendly & helpful, I could tell they might have short of times a couple of times but they did the best they could. Maybe the best part of this hotel is the pool area (please see my photos) which is adjacent to the beach. The beach can be a bit dirty in the afternoon especially after rain, I believe the hotel staff cleans it out but rubbish comes in from other areas, You'd see rubbish everywhere in Labuan Bajo. The garden is quite beautiful and well-maintained but can be a bit muddy after the rain. One thing I would suggest to the hotel is to trim the tall trees as they are blocking the view from the rooms, our room was in the high floor but they were very tall trees blocking the view of the view and Labuan...
