Four-G Home Stay — Hotel in Flores

Excellent value for money. Probably the best guesthouse we stayed at in Indonesia. Lovely family who were very helpful with booking a scooter, arranging taxis and offering laundry facilities. Fantastic breakfast that filled me up until dinner! Rooms are large, clean and comfortable. Air con is brand new and working well.

We stayed here the first 3 nights on Flores. It’s a short ride from the airport, but it’s nice and quiet (apart from the neighbours in the surrounding area that love their karaoke and music). The family was friendly and helpful. The room was a good size with a big bathroom. The breakfast was served on the roof top terrace with a nice view. Wir hatten ein einfaches Doppelzimmer mit geteiltem Bad – alles war sauber und zweckmäßig, genau wie erwartet. Die Klimaanlage lief angenehm leise, sodass man auch ohne Ohrstöpsel schlafen könnte – theoretisch. Praktisch kräht natürlich auch hier der frühmotivierte indonesische Hahn ab 4:00 Uhr – aber wer in einem Wohnviertel bei Locals übernachtet statt im sterilen Resort, weiß, worauf er sich einlässt.

Die Gastgeberfamilie ist super herzlich, das Frühstück lecker, und besonders begeistert hat uns der blitzschnelle Wäscheservice: Abends spät abgegeben, morgens um 10 duftend und perfekt zurück. Wir haben ihn gleich zweimal genutzt!

Auch schön: die kleine Rooftop-Terrasse – dort kann man entspannen, plaudern oder seine eigenen Getränke im Kühlschrank kaltstellen. Und wenn man beim Frühstück noch einen zweiten Kaffee möchte: kein Problem, immer mit einem Lächeln serviert.

Direkt ums Eck liegt übrigens das The Kitchen Garden – nur ein paar Schritte vom Homestay entfernt, aber kulinarisch in einer ganz anderen Liga: eine echte Entdeckung! Das Essen dort ist auf außergewöhnlich hohem Niveau, liebevoll zubereitet und überrascht mit spannenden Aromen – ohne viel Aufhebens, aber mit ganz viel Geschmack. Wer hier wohnt, sollte unbedingt mindestens einmal dort essen. Ein absoluter Geheimtipp!
