Lovely Stay with Incredible Food – Just Mind the Small Details
We stayed at this hotel for two nights and overall had a pleasant experience. The property itself is beautiful, nestled safely in nature, and the Indonesian food was absolutely incredible—some of the best we've ever had! The staff were also very kind and accommodating.
The price includes return boat ride, which is pretty nice. They will be in touch with you on WhatsApp.
Communication with the hotel was excellent; they were highly responsive over WhatsApp, which made arranging things during our stay super easy. Shoutout to Robbie, he did excellent job!
That said, the property could benefit from more attentive maintenance. The grass was quite long in areas, the so-called bar has no staff but only unfinished cleaning equipments and used plates/glasses in the property weren't always collected and some even stayed for half day or overnight, which took away from the otherwise lovely atmosphere.
Important Notes: • when we booked, there was a 10% discount applies to food spent during the stay. When we noticed it wasn't applied to our bill, we ask immediately with the hotel, but they inform us it’s already counted. However, as we remember signing the food bill there was never a 10% discounted, contacted the hotel again after paying since we have to leave with the boat. They were very helpful in investigating and are still in process of the refund. • Being in nature means there are mosquitoes and sand flies, especially at the beach. We got quite bitten during sunset walks - the itchiness stayed with us for days! (This is just nature though, nothing the hotel can do about it.)
With a bit more care and attention to these small details, this place could be truly outstanding. We'd still recommend it, especially for the Amazing food and service! Just remember to...

Blue Mathis is undoubtedly a picturesque resort, perfect for those seeking a serene weekend escape. While I wholeheartedly recommend it, there are certain aspects that could elevate the experience even further.
The Highlights:
The rooms are elegantly designed, reflecting a keen eye for detail.
The resort's setting is breathtaking, making it a visual treat for visitors.
For those concerned about the environmental impact, it's essential to remember the luxury and remoteness of the resort. We all make choices, and flying to an island resort for leisure is one of them.
Areas of Improvement:
Pricing: While the room rates are competitive, the on-site restaurant prices can feel steep, especially given the limited alternatives on the island. The added 21% tax amplifies this sentiment.
Food & Beverage: The quality is commendable, but there's room for enhancement, especially considering the price point. Additionally, the unavailability of certain items, like coconuts, ice cubes, and specific wines, can be a letdown for those celebrating special occasions.
Staff Interaction: While the staff is genuinely amiable, the repetitive questions can become tiresome. A balance between being attentive and allowing guests their privacy would be ideal.
In Summary: Blue Mathis is a wonderful destination with immense potential. With a few tweaks, it could truly be unparalleled. If you're considering a visit, go with an open heart and mind, and you'll find...
Read moreWe spent a few days at Bleu Mathis Gili Asahan and honestly, I wish I could’ve stayed longer. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel right at home, super friendly, always smiling, and genuinely helpful with anything we needed. They even helped us organize some activities around the island without any pressure.||The boat ride to the island was smooth and felt really safe, which I appreciated since I’m usually a bit nervous on boats. Once we arrived… wow. The views are just impeccable and crystal clear water, white sand, and that peaceful, remote island vibe you just can’t get in busier places.||We stayed in a room that directly overlooked the ocean. waking up to that view every morning was something else. The room itself was spacious, clean, and had a very relaxed, tasteful design that blended nicely with the surroundings.||Breakfast every day was such a treat, tropical fresh fruit, good coffee, and a nice variety of options. You can tell they care about quality here. Plus, eating with the ocean right in front of you? Omg||The overall atmosphere at Bleu Mathis is calm and intimate. A perfect getaway if you’re looking to unwind, disconnect, and enjoy nature without giving up comfort. Snorkeling just off the beach was great, and the water is so clear you don’t even need to go far to see marine life.||Highly recommend this place if you’re after a peaceful getaway with amazing views, warm staff, and a truly special setting. Already dreaming about my...
