Utara villas — Hotel in Gili Trawangan

My family and I recently had the pleasure of staying at Utata Villas during our vacation to Gili Trawangan, and what an incredible experience it was! First and foremost, cleanliness is paramount to us, and Utata Villas exceeded our expectations in this regard. The villa was spotlessly clean, and cleaned every day by the staff. The villa's layout with three separate rooms was perfect for our family. The facilities were kid-friendly, and they absolutely loved the pool. It became our go-to spot for relaxation and fun throughout our stay. The staff at Utata Villas truly made our experience exceptional. From the moment we arrived, their warmth and hospitality were evident. They went above and beyond to ensure our needs were met, always with a smile on their faces. Their attention to detail and genuine care for their guests made us feel truly valued. Room service was prompt and the quality outstanding. One dish that stood out was the thai basil chicken – absolutely delicious! Definitely try it out, I had it a few times and it never disappointed. One of the highlights of our stay was the private boat snorkeling tour arranged by Utata Villas. It was an unforgettable experience exploring the crystal-clear waters and vibrant marine life of the Gili Islands. The tour was well-organized, and we felt safe and well taken care of throughout. In conclusion, our stay at Utata Villas was nothing short of magical. From the immaculate cleanliness to the fantastic amenities, attentive staff, delicious food, and unforgettable experiences, every aspect exceeded our expectations. We cannot recommend Utata Villas highly enough and cannot wait to return for another...

I was going to give it 3 stars but because the staff were friendly and the location was good I'd give it a 4. Also the cleaners really made sure the villa was spotless. The noise from ongoing work to the pub really affected our stay. We were not informed of any scheduled works and was not told during check in. We did mention it to the receptionist and they apologised and said it would only be for one day until 5pm. We went out to avoid the noise and to have a look at the island. However the following morning at 8am it started again but worse. I was quite annoyed and messaged reception. They said the work needed to continue but they could ask workers to pause. I completely understand repairs are necessary but our villa was right next to this and It was noisy. We also weren't informed.

The villa was clean and nice. Pool felt warm and I enjoyed this. The kitchen was quite grubby and poorly maintained so I wouldn't use it. Also in the bathroom the showered only gave very Luke warm water no hot or warm water. Breakfast was quite poor. Omelette greasy and limited variety. Id recommend going out for breakfast.

The shop next door was quite cute and I bought a dress from there for 200k so £10.

The bar was nice and had a pool table and darts. Just the bar man was not sociable and looked unhappy. I felt bad for him.

The location was quite good and we rented a bike from the beach front...

After seeing so many positive reviews we had really high expectations of Utara. We had previously stayed at another great villa on the island so had a comparison. Our villa was just a bit bland, all the garden was not like in the photos and quite bare with some plants dying. We had to rent bikes which for the price we are paying for the villa you would think it would be included like other villas do, however this was not the case. The bikes were in poor condition with really thin tyres that would easily get caught and slide in the mud around the island from all the rain, bike locks were not always provided because they had run out so felt a bit worried when riding around the island what would happen if the bikes were stolen. Also didn’t come with bike lights for night time so riding around at night through the bumpy roads made it interesting.

Breakfast in the morning was good, and I really want to make mention of the lady working at the front desk. She was LOVELY, so kind and friendly. Same with the guy working behind the bar who brings...
