We stayed here for 2 nights with some friends before we went up to Ijen. Thankfully one of those nights we left the hotel at 00.30 and we checked out as soon as we got back as on the first night we got 0 sleep.||||Our room was situated right next to the entrance which cars drive past at all hours of the day and night. It's also next to the restaurant which is open 24 hours (although not sure why as we never saw anyone in there). People are coming and going all throughout the day and night and noone seems to control their screaming kids. But worst of all theres a mosque right next to the hotel which seems to go on all throughout the night. It's not just the call to prayer, it's almost constant noise pollution and we got pretty much sleep on the one night we needed it. We thought it was bad at our room but our friends were staying in one of the villas next to the pool and it was much worse there.||||The hotel does have a pool but I wasnt brave enough to go in. There was scum floating around on the top and I saw one guy spitting into it. Our friends kids were brave enough to go in and all 3 got sick the next day. Perhaps this was a coincidence.||||Food was ok at the restaurant when you eventually found something that was available. Most items were sold out each time we tried to eat and dont try to get any other alcoholic drink than a Bintang. No idea why they even advertise others as they clearly haven't been in stock for some time.||||In our room the toilet didnt flush at all. We spoke to reception who said they'd send someone but they didnt. We later called them and eventually sent someone 2 hours later who fixed it.The room itself I guess was ok but very basic and had no soap in the bathroom, standard hygiene standards in the hotel it seemed.||||Breakfast was pretty terrible. There were no plates or bowls when we got there after our return from Ijen at around 8.30am. When we asked for some it was a huge chore to get some and took about 10 minutes. Most of the food was sat open and not readily replenished so wasnt fresh at all. The floor was totally filthy looked like it hadn't been cleaned all morning with dirt and dropped food all over. There were many dishes but not really much for a western palate other than egg station and toast, it was more like a lunch buffet with pastas, lasagne etc.||||I dont think I'll be heading this way again, but if I was theres no way I'd stay at Hotel...
Read moreI recently stayed at Mirah Hotel in Banyuwangi [Monday, 1 Jan 2024] and here's my honest review:
Positive Points: Convenient Location: Mirah Hotel is strategically located, just 8 minutes away from Ketapang Harbour, making it a great choice for those with travel plans. Spacious Accommodation: The 2-bedroom villa-room [Room 109] was impressively spacious, providing ample room for comfort during the stay. Affordable Pricing: One of the standout features is the affordability, making it a budget-friendly option for travelers. Friendly Staff: The hotel staff was exceptionally friendly, adding a warm touch to the overall experience.
Negative Points: Breakfast Service Disappointment: Unfortunately, the breakfast service fell short. At 8 am, many items were unavailable, attributed to the high number of previous guests. The unpeeled star fruit was a noticeable oversight. Hygiene Concerns: The room cleanliness was compromised as there were cockroaches present, which was quite unsettling. AC Issues: In one of the bedrooms, the air conditioning did not work properly, affecting the overall comfort of the stay.
Conclusion: Mirah Hotel in Banyuwangi is recommended for a short stay, especially if you're continuing your journey to Bali or Java. While there are positive aspects like the convenient location, spacious rooms, and friendly staff, addressing the issues with breakfast service, room cleanliness, and AC functionality would significantly enhance the overall...
Read moreI stayed 2 nights in this hotel and take Two Bedroom Villa, receptionist service was so slow, it took a long time to check in (I had already booked the room a long time ago). I came in 11.30 a.m, but they said we have to wait till 2 p.m. Because we're already tired after a long trip, so we just waited in the lobby wanting to rest so much. But unfortunately, the lobby was so dusty, I try to read magazine there, and it was full of dusts, it made us uncomfortable. Then, in my room I got no shampoo, actually I could ask the room service, but in the future, better checking every facilities that you'll give. Because the room rarely used, many mosquitoes there, hope you turn on the insect repellent first, before the guest check in or you can provide spray insect repellent. Overall, I like the bed, bed room, bath room, tv, living room, pool, yard, they're clean enough, so comfortable. The breakfast is also tasty, but you should come early in the morning to get complete menu, I think every they run out of the dishes they change it to another menu, so it'll be different. In the future I hope, the staff work quickly to serve the dishes, because I always run out plate, glass and the dishes. Besides of that, the dishes was so delicious, just minus that thing! They also allowed us to use their bike for free, so we can enjoy the hotel. This hotel suits people that like private place...
