My partner and I, and four other relatives stayed in this hotel for two nights (it was the weekend of the Buddhist Vesak celebration 2013). I can imagine when this hotel was open for the first time (you still can feel the grandeur of this rundown place). The scenery surrounding this big hotel is absolutely magnificent; you really can recharge your battery of sanity. Alas, the food and the service were very basic despite the friendliness of the staff. We stayed in the 'standard room', it's old but they try very hard to give the impression that the room is in pristine condition. There's hot-cold water for shower, TV worked well, but no international channel. The internet connection (Wi-Fi) was a catastrophe – you really need to bring along your favourite book and portable radio and CD player. There's no AC, the area is not anymore cold as it used to be, at night it can be a bit warm; although you can leave the door open. Anyway, much and very much renovation and staff training programmes need to be done. It's a miracle that this hotel...
Read moreIf we saw from outside, the hotel looked spooky. Really old hotel. But as we walked in the isle into the lobby, we could enjoy the hill view from there. The lobby was big, the hotel was big and so was the room. Unfortunately there was no elevator (lift) , so it was quite hard for us who came there with toddlers and elderly.
The pool view room looked so so at noon and night, but when morning came it was very awesome as the Mountain emerged. The mountain was clearly there just in front of your eyes as you opened the curtains or balcony door Wonderful! No fog covered it in the morning. The room was big and tidy, but no AC in it so it was hot and we had to open the balcony door all the time even when we slept at night unless we would feel not comfy as no air inside.
Not many variations for breakfast, and they charged breakfast even for 4-year old- lil kid (40K). The pool that could be used was only 1. Overall the hotel was quite OK and the good thing was that it located near to many tourist...
Read moreWhen coming this way again would stay here again. Big hotel with nice pools. Courteous, friendly & helpful staffs. Please note that the rooms have no air-conditioners due to the fact that it's cool at night. In the daytime may be a bit warm in the rooms if the temperature gets too high.
Very natural settings for a hotel this size. Ants are about quite everywhere in the sink, by the balcony & even in corners of the room.
Just a bit of suggestions: Get rid of the bathtubs n change to showers in the rooms. Bathtubs needs a lot more maintenance than showers. Need another light in the bathrooms by the showers as it's a tad gloom. Hot water tap always on the left. In my room the hot water tap was on the left in the showers but in the right in the sink. Would be great to have windows that can open n close to let fresh air in instead of a solid glass wall. With window it won't get too hot in the day n still not get too cold when it's...
