Came here with the intention to get away from city hustle and bustle for 3 nights to recharge and immerse in nature, i guess i got the nature part minus the good sleep. We stayed in siddharta suite.
Pros
Cons
on 2nd night while unwinding in bed we saw a huge lizard (20-30cm) pooping into our bed. Whatsapped the staff and they said they will arrange for staff to catch it the next day (which was not done as the lizard came back with more poop on the 3rd night) in the end i requested for them to nail up the mosquito net horizontally in case the lizard decides to poop in my face when i sleep at night. Sadly, i did not have a good rest on my last 2 nights.
property looks very tired (it’s about 10 years old), you can see signs of wear and tear, disrepair even. Broken holes in the wood that allows unwanted visitors for a visit. The shower was also broken.
there was a lot of ants, even on the day bed outside which was a shame as I did want to spend more time outside to take in the scenery. But each time I sat on the day bed, I ended up bringing in more ants (on my clothes) into the bed
I understand the intention of being in nature, but not to the level where you cannot have a good and restful time. More effort can be out into fumigating when guests check out so it will be a cleaner and comfortable environment for the next guests. It’s a shame because I really like the property and wish it can be better taken care of. For the price I paid, I would appreciate to have a cleaner and comfortable environment...
Read moreOK I feel a need to bring some balance to the reviews here. Yes, the view is amazing. And the staff are lovely. But if you're considering staying here, you really need to know the following:
The noise level at the resort goes from peaceful to off the charts crazy. Five times a day (inclusive of 3.58am!), a half dozen mosque loudspeakers turn their systems up to 11 in the valley below. Ear plugs are provided - but when the pop music sessions fire up in between, they are zero help - these sessions were really loud - and started at 8am!
The food is inedible - think of the worst hotel you've ever stayed in and you're probably on track. After day one, we ate out.
The in room entertainment system is in Bahasa and no explanation of how to use it was provided.
Except for the bedrooms, which were quite cramped, the only common area was entirely outside. Everyone got bitten to death by bugs - and some of the bugs were the size of small animals (especially the bees).
The shower was pretty basic. No tub. No in-room espresso maker. The pool was nice - except for the bugs.
The hotel can't do anything about the noise - no one can, according to Quora - but that doesn't excuse the quality of food. More could be done to reduce the bugs.
We went to the Aman, which was amazing, but had similar noise issues and not as good of a view. That said, the food there was outstanding - so if you have a...

The only sound was the one of the many birds . From our windows we could see the Borobudur temple : amazing!||We loved the swimming pool facing the valley where the temple is.||We were welcomed by a kind and lovely staff and were offered a very tasting ginger beer !|The sitting area and the bar were two “floors” down our suite and also from there the view was amazing. We dined at the restaurant in an open area always with the same lovely view of the valley and we tasted delicious Javanese food .||Silence, relax , privacy and charm : this is what we were looking for and this is what villa Borobudur gave us .||Anna and...
