Mirabelle Joglo Village — Hotel in Jepara

Our stay at Mirabelle Joglo was absolutely magical, one of those we won't forget. Here's why. THE PLACE The Mirabelle is an extremely well designed and cared garden (all this done by the owners), with wooden bungalows on the sides, a bar in the center, a pergola and a few cozy spots to chill here and there. All the common facilities are facing the sea from up high.

THE ORGANIZATION When we arrived, we were in a rush to enjoy the early sunset (5:30), as our boat had run late. Laurent (the hotel manager) sent us a car to pick us up, and a rental scooter was waiting for us at the hotel. We could start the holiday from minute one, much appreciated. Evertyhing is done so guests don't have to think about any logistics : Laurent would organize anything, and we would pay at check out. Boat excursion, massage, ferry tickets.. Mineral water is free and in self service, which comes very handy. If we wanted to have a last drink at night after dinner, we would just open the fridge from the bar, take whatever we fancied and write it in a notebook to be billed later. This tells a lot about the state of mind that rules this place : wharing and trusting. THE BUNGALOW We stayed in a wooden bungalow, with sober decoration but with everything needed and perfectly clean. The extrerior bathroom and shower is a game changer. THE PEOPLE Last but not least. Laurent and his wife Eta are remarkable people, all kindness and authenticity. Everything is easy with them. Their two children are lovely. They built this wonderful place and live here. We had such a wonderful stay at the Mirabelle Village. The booking was completely hassle-free and super spontaneous without any major formalities. We were picked up directly at the port and taken to our accommodation. We were immediately in love. Everything is so beautifully laid out and you have your own little bungalow with air conditioning and a huge bathroom and a Veranda with a view of the sea. Everything is incredibly clean and the room is cleaned and tidied every day. Breakfast was also included with a good selection and it was always incredibly tasty. The owners Etha and Laurent were so great - it was my girlfriend's birthday when we arrived and as it was all very spontaneous with our arrival, I asked if a little surprise was possible. They organized a cake which was so delicious and beautifully presented. When we arrived we got delicious iced tea and then my friend was surprised with the cake and everyone sang, it was so sweet. Afterwards we were given 2 scooters which Laurent organized for us very quickly. A private snorkeling trip with fish bbq on an island was also organized for us. It was really great and we would recommend it at any time. The guide there also took great care of us - so it went off without a hitch - it was just great. On the day of departure we had to leave quite early because of the ferry, and they had also prepared breakfast for us to take with us. The resort is located at the most beautiful part of the island, at the East coast, but not far from the town with its cafes and restaurants, port and market. The resort and also the individual bungalows have a beautiful design. The whole resort is one big, carefully designed and well-maintained garden, with a small bar and open-air lounge in the center where the guests can meet casually. The bungalows are charming and well-equipped, with a nice open-air bathroom and of course air condition and warm water. The modern bed in our bungalow was of good quality but, following the Asian style, not very soft. The bungalows have nice verandas, ours with a beautiful view (see photo). The breakfast is indeed as tasty as it has been described in other comments, especially the international breakfast with delicious self-made bread and omlette. Actually, it was the best food that we got at all at the island. The resort is run by a very friendly, open and helpful French-Indonesian couple, whom we and the other guests liked to meet and talk with at the bar in the evenings. They also helped us with booking the ferry boat trip, provided tips where to go on the island and a motorbike for rent (for a low fee) and organised for us an exciting whole-day snorkeling tour with a local tour guide, which was the highlight of our holiday.
