Seraya Shores Resort Bali Karangasem — Hotel in Kecamatan Karangasem

Beware that if you are booking the Sea Breeze Villa, you may not get the terraced room. ||Liked · The view of the ocean from our bedroom window was spectacular. The resort was not full and at times it felt like we were the only ones there which was a huge bonus.||Disliked · Stained linens|No water in the bathroom shower or sink in the mornings but came on full power in the evenings. Not really that much of an issue.||Please note!!! When booking this resort through the booking website, it gives the impression that if you book the Sea Breeze Villa, you get the large private Terrace. THIS IS NOT THE CASE. You only get the terrace if you have the ground floor of the villa. The upstairs room at the Sea Breeze Villa has no outside space at all. I booked the Sea Breeze Villa for the large private terrace but it was occupied when we arrived and so had to take the upstairs room with no outside space and this was hugely disappointing.|Also, I had already paid for the terraced room and did not get any compensation for having the smaller non terraced space. The location is amazing! You can swim in the outdoor infinity pool or go down the stairs and you’re already on the beautiful sand beach. The view from the terrace is amazing, and I still miss falling asleep to the sound of waves. The room was beautifully decorated and cleaned daily. The staff are so helpful, nice and accommodating. You can also book a tour or a driver trough them and they drive you anywhere you want. Our driver Wayan was just the best, he told us many tips and tricks when in Bali and also drove us to “secret” places to take photos or just sightseeing, away from the crowd. The breakfast is also delicious and they make it each day just for you, based on your order. They can also make you lunch and/or dinner which is also very good and also cheap. If you wish to dine out, an amazing restaurant is very near, just walk along the beach for about 50m and you’re there (they also have very affordable prices). I am not into yoga or meditation but this delightful place is the setting for calming down, winding down and concentrating on just what is around you, and your own thoughts or the book at hand. The beauty and intimacy of the setting, and the remoteness and quietness of it compared to Southern Bali are the reasons to stop here for a few days. ||You are next to the ocean and can hear it day and night. The restaurant and the yoga house and the pool are all by the sea, surrounded by beautiful gardens. ||Thanks to Santos and his team for the memorable time, great food (even the suckling pig that was procured for us!), great service. We had the best massages by the local professionals, highly recommended! The driver took us to various off-site trips like the Amlapura market, where we were the only westerners.||East Bali is very different from the South, worth experiencing.
