John and Wayan made our visit to this area beyond special. The food was spectacular! By the far the best meals we ate in the area were cooked by Wayan. Such personal and thoughtful touches in meal preparation. We ate the majority of our meals with them. And looking back I wished I had eaten all my meals there during our stay.
The view is spectacular, looking over the black sand beach, hearing the waves, and breeze coming off the water was nothing short of magical. The property is like stepping into an enchanted garden.
What was the best part of the experience and is something that is rarely found in travel but I am always searching is the genuine hospitality and connection provided by John, Wayan and family. They treated us like family. They welcomed us into their property which is their home as well. They made us feel as if we were family and at home. They shared with us the history of Bali, and guided us on places to go and things to see that were specific to our interests and something we would not have found from all the cookie cutter tour packages. With over 20+ years hosting they have experience and knowledge unmatched. This is Bali! This place is the reason why we travel. I feel immense gratitude for having stumbled upon Kebun Impian.
Wayans cooking class is not to be missed. It’s the real deal!!!! She takes the attendees to local markets to shop for fresh and local ingredients prior to rolling up our sleeves and chopping and cooking. Priceless experience!!!!
They are proprietors that understand what travelers need and provide a rich, fun, warm and authentic experience. I look forward to...
Read moreThis review is purely for the hospitality from the owners, the restaurant and incredible cuisine and the fabulous location. I rode back to hear 1hour purely to eat, touch base again and try some more authentic dishes. The location is magical. After riding 1 hour in hot weather l knew l could order primo Balinese cooked meals and have a swim all in one. After a goid catchup and chat with the owners l went ahead and ordered the Marlin fish dish and coconut crusted prawns. A 30min swim to cool down and enjoy the views while waiting for lunch to arrive was so good. I sat out in the bungalow on the water’s edge and soaked it all in. It’s a super hot day so this setting was perfect= BALMY BALI 🥵…lunch had arrived and l was hungry. The marlin was so well prepared and the coconut crusted prawns were so delicious it all really hit the spot. So much care is taken in preparing these meals and it’s evident in the taste and flavours. It’s a vital hidden gem 💎 that’s for sure. Highly recommended and thanks once again for the amazing welcome, hospitality and brilliant cuisine. See you on my...
Read moreMy wife and I stayed at Kebun Impian for a week in early March. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. As many have expressed Yanti and John are wonderful hosts. You really do feel that you are sharing their home (and you are!). The food was excellent, and both Yanti and John are engaging and happy to share advice and interesting/humorous stories (and even run you in to town). Is it 5-star accommodation? No, but it does not purport to be. They make it clear that they are a 2-star property (and I think that is underselling). Our room was clean and well presented. The service from the staff was excellent. And speaking of excellent service, Yanti organised our pickup at the airport for our midnight arrival. We were met by Kadek who then drove us the 2+ hours to the property. Kadek continued as our driver while we stayed at Kebun Impian and then for the rest of our stay in Bali. Would not hesitate to recommend him as a driver. So thanks again Yanti and John (and Kadek) for a wonderful stay. We look forward to hopefully staying with you again in the future. Warm regards, Lisa...
