Sumber Hotel — Hotel in Kota Batu

When I read the reviews for this hotel, I already expected difficulties to locate the place. Fortunately, this hotel was actually easy to find. I used the GPS application in my Blackberry and the name just popped up on the screen.||||The receptionist, a lady, was nice and helpful. She helped us to convert the family room (on 2nd floor) into 2 single rooms on the 1st floor (made possible because we came in low season) without additional cost.||||Our rooms were facing the garden / pool. The position was good; we could just go out to the cabbana and relax there, or go straight to the swimming pool. ||||Con's: ||- the windows were covered of horizontal blinds that could not be completely shut||- we found some dirts below the beds (the housekeeping then cleaned them)||- the running hot and cold water were not stable; dangerous if small kids use the shower without supervision. Somebody told me that was probably because the hotel uses gas heater instead of electric heater (dunno whether that's true or not). ||||Pro's:||- the weather was very nice, could be very cold at nights. Better bring jackets / extra blankets||- the swimming pool eventhough was small but enough for relaxing. Be careful, the water was probably pumped from a deep well, it was cold even during daytime||- the breakfast was simple but tasty. Note: We purchased rooms with no breakfast. On the 2nd day of our staying the cook was on holiday so room service was not available (??). But we managed to find various eating places nearby (we tried food stalls around Alun-Alun / City Centre Garden).||||The hotel is close to Batu major attactions such as Jatim Park I and Jatim Park II. I highly recommend Batu Secret Zoo. I went with my husband, kid and mom, and our family had a blast.||||Local cuisine: "sate kelinci" (= satay made from rabbit meat)...

Aku sempat tersasar ketika menuju ke hotel ini. Letaknya agak di dalam. Lingkungan sekitarnya adalah rumah penduduk. Hotel ini jauh dari jalan raya, sehingga suasananya sangat tenang. Meskipun demikian, letak hotel ini sangat strategis, karena dekat ke alun-alun kota Batu, dan objek wisata lainnya seperti kawasan wisata Jatim Park (Jatim Park 1, Jatim Park 2, Eco Green Park, BNS), dan Taman Wisata Selecta.||||Jika dibandingkan dengan fasilitas yang ada, sebenarnya harga RP. 500.000/ malam (high season, Mei 2013) termasuk mahal. Namun, hotel ini bersih, tenang, dan sangat nyaman.||||Di hotel ini, kami menempati kamar 205 di lantai 2. Kelebihan dari kamar ini adalah:||||- Bersih, tenang, nyaman. Kualitas tidur jadi sangat baik.||- Pemandangan di luar kamar sangat indah. Baik siang ataupun malam tetap indah.||- TV berukuran cukup besar, lengkap dengan channel luar negri.||- Cocok untuk beristirahat setelah lelah seharian berjalan-jalan.||- Ada petunjuk arah kiblat.||- Kamar mandi cukup luas, bersih dan interiornya bagus.||||Kekurangan dari kamar ini adalah:||||- Tidak ada AC!! Sebetulnya ini tidak terlalu bermasalah, karena udara di Kota Batu ini cukup dingin. Masalahnya adalah ketika kita baru pulang dan masuk kamar, maka udara di kamar jadi agak sumpek. Pengap gitu. Jadi aku harus membuka pintu yang ada di balkon selama sekitar 30 menit sampai 1 jam, agar udara di kamar segar kembali.||||- Ruangannya agak sempit untuk solat.||||- Stop kontak di kamar ini hanya ada 1. Jadi kalau kita membawa beberapa alat elektronik, seperti: smartphone, tab, camera, power bank, maka harus gantian men-charge-nya. Belum lagi kalau mau masak air untuk minum teh, maka gadget yang ada harus ‘mengalah’ dengan teko listrik. Akhirnya gadget kami jadi pada lowbat, Tidak sempat mengisi ulang baterai.||||- Kamar mandi menggunakan hexos (maaf ya kalau penulisannya salah). Tapi jika hexosnya dimatikan, maka kamar mandi jadi sedikit bau. Akhirnya hexos-nya aku nyalakan aterus menerus selama 24 jam. Di kamar mandi juga tidak disediakan tissue. Tidak terlalu masalah, karena di kamar tidur ada tissue.||||Untuk urusan sarapan, menurutku cukup baik. Menunya tidak jauh-jauh dari nasi goreng, roti, dan buah. Rasanya cukup enak.||||Mulai dari satpam, resepsionis, sampai pelayan di restoran, semuanya ramah.||||Secara keseluruhan Hotel Sumber tidak mengecewakan dan tetap menjadi salah satu alternatif penginapan jika kami berkunjung kembali...

Stay away from this hotel if you did not drive or have a vehicle with you. The hotel is located in a residential area with at least 15 mins walk to main road. Nothing except residential in the surrounding. The family room looks fine with basic renovation come with a comfortable twin queen size bed. It does not have aircon or fridge in the room. The service was not proactive as I had to complain to the duty manager before they change the rusty kettle in my room. The toilet is very basic too. The toilet bowl flooring got flooded due to it stupid design. ||Simple breakfast serve with 2/3 main dishes and tea or coffee. ||The room rate is over price and you can easily get a much better hotel room in...
